Kali Place (Sociology Major and Feminist & Gender Studies Minor '17) will kick off the summer prior to her senior year interning for Penh Lenh in Cambodia.
Penh Lenh "empowers young women rescued from human trafficking in Cambodia to pursue their life goals through quality education, vocational training, and advanced career opportunities. Each piece of jewelry is made by one of the girls currently being cared for by the Hope for Justice program staff in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The name Penh Lenh, meaning ‘whole’, was given to the collection as each of its handcrafted designs reflects the strength and beauty of the girl who created it. Delicate, colorful, bold, unique. 100% of the profits go back into the work of Hope for Justice."
