Honorary Degrees Conferred upon Geology Alumni

Robert Schock '61 and Woody Fischer '00 were presented with honorary degrees from Colorado College in the past year. Both are graduates of the Geology Department from Colorado College.

Robert Schock was given his honorary degree during Commencement in May 2014. Mr. Schock was most recently the director of studies for the World Energy Council in London and a consultant to industry, laboratories, and governments worldwide.

Woody Fischer received his honorary degree during Opening Convocation on September 1, 2014. Woody is a professor of Geobiology at the California Institute of Technology, researching in locations such as Oman, West Australia, Gotland (Sweden), Anticosti Island (Canada), South Africa, Namibia, and remote research on Mars.
