FAC Performing Arts Committee Moves Ahead

After several months of planning for the implementation of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College strategic plan, the Performing Arts Implementation Plan Committee submitted its recommendation to college leadership. The plan has been accepted and goes into effect with the start of this new fiscal year. It proposes a holistic vision for the performing arts across campus and envisions long-term transformation by embarking upon a journey of excellence, access, and collaboration - the three themes of the FAC strategic plan. Central to this vision, three key strategic initiatives emerged and were identified for prioritization to address infrastructure, work, and audience.

"A driving force for our committee was our shared desire to make the performing arts a habit for the Colorado College community, especially our students," says Professor of Music and Crown Family Professor for Innovation in the Arts Ryan BaƱagale '00. "I am incredibly proud of the work of this dedicated committee. This ambitious set of recommendations charts a path for Colorado College to become a national leader in the ways we can promote learning in and through the arts."
