Dennis Showalter wins 2007 Spencer Tucker Award

Dennis Showalter, professor of history, was awarded the 2007 Spencer Tucker Award by ABC-CLIO, publisher of history and social studies reference and educational books for higher education institutions and secondary schools. The award is named for Spencer Tucker, Fulbright scholar, retired professor who held the John Biggs Chair of Military History at the Virginia Military Institute, and senior fellow of military history at ABC-CLIO. Tucker presented the award to Showalter on April 19 at a Society of Military History conference in Frederick, Md. Showalter joined Colorado College in 1969, and has also taught at the U.S. Military Academy, Marine Corps University, and the U.S. Air Force Academy. He is the author and editor of 20 books, some of which have been translated into German and Polish, as well as numerous articles.
