As part of the 2010-2011 Philosophy Colloquium Series, Professor Cheshire Calhoun of Arizona State University will speak on "Living with Boredom." More broadly, Professor Calhoun's research engages questions of forgiveness, integrity, shame, common decency, and civility. Her most recent work in ethics and moral psychology centers on the necessary background conditions for taking an interest in one's own agency. That work includes essays on depression and demoralization, meaning in life, hope, and commitment. Sponsored by the Colorado College Philosophy Department and the Robert Lewis Fund
