Dean Mike Edmonds Wins Service Award

Mike Edmonds, vice president for student life and dean of students at Colorado College, recently was awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award by James Logan High School in Union City, California.

The award was presented at the Northern California high school's annual national forensics competition, held over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The Community Service Award is "emblematic of service above self" and was given in recognition of Edmonds' "dedication and inspirational leadership" within the forensics and debate community.

James Logan High School has more than 3,900 students and is considered among the nation's most diverse. The school's distinctions include its forensics and debate program, which has been recognized by Oprah, Jim Lehrer, and CBS News for its excellence.
