Brenna Day ’14 won the 50-yard freestyle and was part of a record-setting effort in the 400 medley relay as Colorado College clawed its way into second place after the first full day of the 2013 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
Day gave Colorado College its first championship on the women’s side, winning the 50 free in 24.30. She beat Trinity’s Jennifer Ince to the wall by .09.
In the final event of the night, freshman Olivia Dilorati broke the school record in the 100 backstroke, posting a split of 58.59 while leading off the 400 medley relay. Jackie Nonweiler, Megan Gillespie and Day kept up the pace and the Tigers took second in a school-record time of 4:00.18.
