Colorado College awarded $300,000 grant from Sherman Fairchild Foundation

Colorado College has been awarded a three-year, $300,000 grant from the Sherman Fairchild Foundation. CC was among a handful of colleges invited to submit a proposal, and one of four in the nation to receive a grant. The funds will be used to help equip two digital media labs and several other technological areas in the new Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center, the college's interdisciplinary arts building.

The equipment will help promote cutting-edge technologies in the arts, as well as provide students and faculty with increased opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary work. CC's goal is to bring all of the art world's possibilities - collaborative, traditional, technological and interdisciplinary - to students and allow them to be innovative and forge connections across disciplines.

The Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center is the hub of the CC's "Cornerstone Arts Initiative," which aims to infuse the arts throughout the college.
