CC's Mortar Board Chapter Honored for Excellence

CC's chapter of Mortar Board was honored for excellence at the 2008 Mortar Board National Conference. Colorado College student Tabitha Hrynick '09, vice president of the CC chapter, accepted the award in Columbus, Ohio, this summer. The chapter was one of 59 to receive the Silver Torch Award, presented to chapters executing timeliness and dedication while exemplifying scholarship, leadership, and service. Additionally, the CC chapter was among 23 groups to receive a Project Excellence Award for their section project, which involved maintenance work in Garden of the Gods park.

Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes college seniors for outstanding achievement in scholarship. The Mortar Board chapter at Colorado College was chartered in 2002 and currently has 20 members.
