CC's Bowed Piano Ensemble Completes European Concert Tour

Colorado College's Bowed Piano Ensemble, led by composer and USA Simon Fellow Stephen Scott, recently completed its eighth European concert tour, in collaboration with soprano soloist Victoria Hansen. The concert tour ran from May 25 to June 7, beginning at the legendary Logos Foundation's Tetrahedron performance space in Gent, Belgium.
Two concerts in Italy were followed by a performance at the Slovak Radio Studio in Bratislava, supported by the U.S. Embassy. The ensemble then played in Klaipeda, an ancient port city on the Baltic coast of Lithuania, and at the second concert of the summer-long Pazaislis Music Festival in Kaunas.
For the final concert, the Colorado College musicians were joined by 10 students from Leuphana University in L√ľneburg, Germany (four of them previously trained by Scott in the techniques of bowing the piano) for a 40-hands version of Scott's new composition "Aurora Ficta."
