CC No. 11 Producer of Peace Corps Volunteers

Colorado College again made the Peace Corps’ top 25 list of small schools producing Peace Corps volunteers. With 18 alumni currently serving as volunteers, CC ranks No. 11. Since Peace Corps’ inception in 1961, 312 Colorado College alumni have joined the ranks, making CC the No. 132 producer of volunteers.

CC’s distinction as a leading producer of Peace Corps volunteers is appropriate: Colorado College President Richard F. Celeste, who joined the college in 2002, served as director of the U.S. Peace Corps from 1979 until 1981.

Schools are ranked according to the size of the student body, with small schools being those with less than 5,000 undergraduates. To view the entire “Peace Corps Top Colleges 2008” list, please visit the Peace Corps Web site at http://www.peacecorps.gov/news/resources/stats/pdf/schools2008.pdf.
