CC Associate Sociology Professor Katherine Giuffre Publishes New Book

Katherine Giuffre, associate professor of sociology, has just published a new book, "Collective Creativity: Art and Society in the South Pacific." The book analyzes the art world on Rarotonga, an island in central Polynesia that is the center of a burgeoning South Pacific art scene and where Giuffre spent her sabbatical year doing research. Giuffre teaches a class, SO190: Polynesian Society, during which students spent 10 days last year doing field work on Rarotonga. The students' time on the island was enabled by Colorado College's Block Plan, in which students study one course at a time in intensive 3½-week blocks.
