Bill Hybl, Colorado College '64, Nominated for Another State Department Advisory Term

The White House has announced that William J. Hybl '64 will be nominated for another term on the State Department's Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy.|The commission, which Hybl now heads, gives advice to the president and the State Department on how to best focus American diplomatic efforts. The nomination will go to the Senate for confirmation. Hybl has served on the commission under Presidents Barack Obama, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.The seven members of the commission serve three-year terms. Hybl was most recently confirmed to a commission post in 2008, and his term was set to expire this year.Hybl is chairman and CEO of the El Pomar Foundation and former president of the U.S. Olympic Committee. He has served in numerous positions with Colorado College, including on the Alumni Association Board and Board of Trustees. He was the 2005 recipient of the Lloyd E.
