Assistant English Professor Awarded $11,000 Grant From Canadian Government

Steven Hayward, CC assistant English professor, has been awarded an $11,000 grant from the Canadian government to develop a course titled "Canadian Literature as Cultural Production." Hayward will teach the course in 2010-2011 in Toronto, Montreal, and Guelph (province of Ontario).
The Faculty Enrichment Program, administered by the Canadian government of Canada, provides faculty members an opportunity to develop or update a course with substantial Canadian content that will be offered as part of their regular teaching load. The program enables academic award holders to go to Canada and gather the necessary information and material to devise a new course on Canada, or to modify or extend significantly the Canadian component of existing courses.
