"Building on the Block 2.0" added a new recommendation to help students to build connections across diverse communities, disciplines, and academic and co-curricular experiences, and to link their CC education to their future aspirations.
What's happening:
Earlier this year the college launched an addendum to the strategic plan, "Building on the Block 2.0." While the finishing touches were being put on the addendum, two groups were already being assembled to look at initiatives within the new recommendation. The first group is laying the groundwork for a college pipeline initiative, which will eventually result in expanding CC's efforts to enhance college-preparedness in students from marginalized backgrounds in the Pikes Peak Region. The group will bring a program recommendation to the president by the end of this academic year. Read the group's full charge and membership here.
The second group that has begun work on the new recommendation is a special project team of the Board of Trustees that is focusing on how the college can better support students as they transition from CC to their next steps. Key items the team hopes to accomplish this year include: participate in discussions on the direction of "college to career at CC" and increase engagement of our CC network of alumni and parents as resources for current students and young alumni.
