Pallotta invented the multi-day charitable event industry with the AIDS rides and breast cancer three-day events. These events have enabled ordinary individuals to make a difference, and have raised $582 million in nine years. Pallotta is the author of “Uncharitable: How Restraints on Nonprofits Undermine Their Potential,” the best-selling title in the history of Tufts University Press, and the founder and president of advertising for Humanity and the Charity Defense Council. His TED Talk “The Way We Think About Charity is Dead Wrong,” is one of the top 50 most-viewed presentations.

“The Why of Innovation” identifies how innovation is all the rage in business literature these days—how to stimulate it, how to improve it. But why? Why create it in the first place? In this talk, Pallotta explains that great innovation comes from great purpose — from a desire to move humanity forward, no matter what the industry or sector. Ultimately, great innovation comes from love. It’s a profoundly moving oration for corporate or social change audiences, and it will leave people thinking differently about thinking differently.

Privilege Walk Mon, 31 Mar 2014 07:37:25 MDT https://www.coloradocollege.edu/events/2014-04-08-privilege-walk https://www.coloradocollege.edu/events/2014-04-08-privilege-walk
Tuesday, April 8, 2014 12:00 PM

Come out to Worner Quad for pizza and an activity that helps us all better understand the differing levels of privilege on the CC campus!
