He will speak on Machiavelli's legacy on the occasion of the 500 year anniversary of the publication of "The Prince."</p> <p>Professor Wootton&nbsp;works on the intellectual and cultural history of the English speaking countries, Italy, and France, 1500-1800. He is currently writing a book on the scientific revolution to be published by Penguin in the UK, HarperCollins in the US, and Piper in Germany.
