Skill Shares will be held twice weekly at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Sundays in Shove Memorial Chapel. The first Skill Share — "River Songs and an Introduction to Community Storytelling" — is a two-part series that will be held on September 8, 15, and 22 and October 6, 20, and 27. It will be facilitated by Adison Quin Petti, a 2011 CC alum and the staff advisor to the Community Kitchen, as well as a local writer and activist. River Songs will be held at 11 a.m. This workshop is a place to explore and share individual stories with neighbors in the community. Participants will watch music videos, sing songs, draw pictures, write words, and speak our minds and hearts to better understand our own, and each other’s, experiences. "An Introduction to Community Storytelling" will be held at 2:30 p.m. This workshop will explore how to weave individual stories into collective narratives that help identify and reach shared goals. We’ll discuss the communities we have and imagine new ways to achieve the ones that we want. Participants are encouraged to bring a brief story or news clip about an issue they care about.

Each session will last for 60-90 minutes, leaving plenty of time to volunteer in the Community Kitchen before or after for those who are interested. A certificate of recognition will be awared to participants attending four or more sessions. Please contact Adison Quin Petti at or (719) 389-6022, with questions or to learn more about leading future activities.
