’16 Elizabeth Eaton Morse lives in a nursing home in Grand Junction and is 104 years old. According to her son, H.M., she is not taking any post-graduate courses at this time.

’26 The late James and Leila Whited ’25 Taylor established a private foundation which benefits many cultural, educational and charitable purposes in the Raton, N.M., area.

’38 Ed Pelz and family had a busy ’97. A trip to England last summer included visits to Suffolk, to the Orkney Islands of WWII fame and also a Eurostar train ride through the chunnel to Brussels for two days on the Belgian coast.

’44 J. Robert Cunningham is the president and founder of The Chipman Cunningham College for Youth in Sterling, Colo., which focuses on the prevention of all risks to youth.

’47 John Zorack reports that he was invited by his foster son who is Vietnamese to a private tour of Vietnam. John was also asked to speak before 45 members of the U.N. government about lobbying and representation. He was then treated to a snake dinner — eating cobra — complete with heart and blood.

’48 Herbert Beattie performed bass (The Angel, Raphael, and Adam) in the CC music department’s presentation of "The Creation" in December. * Dorothy Scott Gibbs has been the president of the Arthur Rackham Society since its founding in 1984, and was newsletter editor until last summer. During the election of new officers at the fourth biennial international conference in England last June, Dorothy was voted the title of "founder and president emeritus."

’49 James Milmoe was the curator of the show, The Human Experience: 20th Century Photography, at the Center for the Visual Arts, a department of The Metropolitan State College of Denver. ’63 Lynne Vincent Cheney was featured in an article in the Jan.-Feb. 1998 issue of Modern Maturity on her book, Telling the Truth: Why our Culture and Our Country Have Stopped Making Sense - and What We Can Do About It. * Brett Stearns and wife Nancy moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Santa Ynez, Calif., located in a valley 25 miles north of Santa Barbara. "I still work part-time for the California Academy of Sciences and ‘commute’ to San Francisco every three weeks or so." * Sarah "Sunny" Jamison Steinmeyer practices clinical psychology with "undeclared specialities in eating and dissociative disorders." She has developed a special interest in working with parents who have been abused – emotionally , physically and/or financially – by adolescent or adult children. For fun she designs promotional materials and sets up databases. "The computer and I have a relationship all our own." She adds, "I refuse to be this old!" * Suzy Gillespie Steger, of Indianapolis, is a "household manager," mother of two daughters, Cynthia and Emily, and is into bridge, tennis, platform tennis and gardening. * Julie Rolfe Stokstad, after 20 years as a science teacher, has started a new career. In May, she began a six-month sabbatical replacement as pastor of Weaverville (Calif.) Congregational Church. She is looking for a permanent position as pastor in a northern California UCC church. * Carole Coffman Stoller, kindergarten teacher in Colorado Springs School District 11 for more than 20 years, has a son, Ben, graduating from the Colorado Institute of Art and another son graduating from Palmer High School. Carole is looking forward to retiring. She and husband Dave celebrated their 28th anniversary in October. * Don Stouffer is retired from Mount Royal College. He teaches part-time, coaches the college golf team and plays old-timer’s hockey. He and wife, Marilyn, enjoy traveling to visit their seven children and 13 grandchildren. * Gary Summers works for American Airlines at Dallas/Ft. Worth. He is central load control agent and lives in Lewisville. * Don Thompson has a small horse ranch in the Teton Valley, Idaho. He is also a real estate broker in Idaho and Wyoming. Polly left teaching after their three children, Jennifer ’91, Timothy ’95 and Sarah graduated from college, and has been studying at Wesley Theological Seminary. ’65 Jeff Sauer became the winningest coach in WCHA history when the Wisconsin Badgers, which he coaches, defeated the University of Denver in January to earn him his 555th victory. Jeff subsequently reached his 400th win as coach of the Badgers the end of February to become only the third coach in league history to win 400 games at one school.
