'28 Preston Albright recently celebrated his 89th birthday. He cooks his own meals at his 100-year-old home on one-half acre in Dufur, Ore. He would love to hear from fellow alumni. * Mary Clark Edmiston enjoys excellent health and would love to hear from friends.

'29 Helen Lindahl Michelson was honored on her 89th birthday in March by the Colorado Legislature for being "a political activist, community leader and renowned educator who has influenced the lives of many students, including Colorado Springs Mayor Bob Isaac and State Sen. Ray Powers."

'33 Lewis January is professor emeritus of medicine at the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City. * Lyle Jones resides in Anchorage, where he retired in 1973 as the chief director of engineering for Alaska Bureau of Land Management. He remains active in land survey organizations. At the 1996 Alaska Surveying and Mapping Convention in February, he was inducted into the "Hall of Fame" of the Alaska chapters of the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping and the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. * Ken Peterson lives in an assisted living home in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.

'35 Wilbur Larson is retired and lives in Grand Junction, Colo.

'37 Leonard von Bibra Sutton received a first-time award from the Inter American Bar Association at its 32nd International Conference in Quito, Ecuador, for 40 years of work on court reform and in providing justice for indigents and their attorneys.

'39 Charles Boyce completed a second term on the Las Cruces Symphony Board of Directors at New Mexico State University.

'44 Thomas Fox is a financial consultant with Triple Check Tax & Financial Service in Peoria, Ariz. He enjoyed visiting with President Kathryn Mohrman during her visit to Arizona in February, and wanted to send a special thanks to Ed Robson '54 and family for hosting the get-together at their home.

'47 Eric Bransby was awarded an honorary doctorate of fine arts at the December commencement exercises at Park College in Kansas City, Mo. * John Zorack successfully lobbied to have the downtown Colorado Springs post office's name changed to the Winfield Scott Stratton Post Office. The Myron Stratton Home, a Stratton legacy, was John Zorack's home for eight years when he was a child. The home aids the elderly and orphaned or abandoned children from poor families.

'48 Betty Sue Kurie Uptegrove has two daughters and two grandchildren. She would love to hear from friends at 8919 Park Road, DC41, Charlotte, N.C. 28210.

'50 Francis Balensiefer is retired and lives in Alta Loma, Calif.

'51 Jane Stevenson Day has retired as chief curator for the Denver Museum of Natural History, but will continue part time as Latin American curator, museum consultant and teacher of pre-Columbian archaeology. * Following 40 years of active ministry in rural areas and on Indian reservations as an Episcopal priest, George Smith retired after touring Israel and Great Britain.

'52 Helen Kuh Changras, happily resettled in the Bay Area, is basically retired but has a notary service. * Joan Tutin Weiss and her husband enjoyed their third trip to Sydney, Australia, where they visited their son's family and attended their grandson's bar mitzvah.

'54 Kathleen Smith Scott represented Colorado College at Mt. Holyoke's presidential inauguration in May. She recently gave a public lecture in paleography at Kings College in London and has a book due out this summer.

'55 Suzie Beer O'Neill organized a dessert and conversation with President Mohrman for Phoenix area alumni and parents at Ed Robson's '54 home this past February.

'57 Meredith McCombs Dalebout was a school library/media specialist for School District 11 in Colorado Springs for one school year. * Michael Bradford retired in 1989 from Lockheed Software Technology Center and lives with his wife of 35 years in Austin, Texas.

'58 After six years of producing a monthly community newsletter, Molly Bradshaw Adams has retired and now devotes her energy to collecting local history and supporting historic preservation. * Coralie Allen owns Editorial Eyes, an editing and proofreading home-based business. She is actively involved on the vestry and in the choir at her church. * Gale Koschmann Belinky is a nurse-technician at Compassion Veterinary in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She spends her free time in the Adirondacks hiking, camping and canoeing. She recently attended an Amazon Rainforest workshop in Iquitos, Peru. * Barbara Drevdahl Benson teaches kindergarten at Conejo Valley Unified School District in Thousand Oaks, Calif. * Nancy Brownell is a designer with Thurston Kitchen & Bath in Denver. * Donald Clay is retired after 33 years of college and university teaching and administration. He is currently traveling, visiting family and friends, and consulting as a senior geologist with Western American Mineral & Chemical Consultants. * Don Wishart received the 1995 Engineering Achievement Award from The Association of Professional Engineers of Saskatchewan. Don is a senior principal in the consulting firm Donovan Engineering Ltd. in Regina, Saskatchewan.

'60 Andy McClintock, with the help of Bob '61 and Diane Elliott McConnell '62, hosted a pre-game brunch before the NCAA Hockey Championship Game in Cincinnati for alumni, parents and fans of Tiger Hockey. * Janice Jilka McElroy is publisher and editor of "WOMANSWORD", a national monthly newsletter for activists that provides current news and legislative alerts on issues impacting on women. It also tracks and provides updates on the implementation of the U.S. commitments made to the Platform for Action adopted at the Beijing Fourth World Conference on Women. * Terrence Witt is principal of Witt Strategies in Tokyo, Japan, where he is currently elaborating a new concept on the physiopathology of AIDS.

'61 James Grace is a representative with Quaker United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland. * Dick Stephen-Hassard is managing director of Q.D.S-H Consulting in Dillon, Mont. * Mary Elizabeth Bradley was granted a sabbatical from the College of the Ozarks to teach piano at the Xian Conservatory of Music, Shaanxi Province, People's Republic of China, during the fall semester, 1995. She and her husband, Leon, each gave solo recitals and prepared their students for performances. Mary Elizabeth taught 13 of the most advanced students and lectured on the history of the piano and piano pedagogy.

'62 Yves Geneste is retired and living in Newport News, Va. * Robert Price and Rube Melle Garibay were married July 30, 1995. He is an assistant building engineer in San Francisco.

'63 Gordon Allott reports that he continues to practice law, the kids are gone, there's one dog left, "still not free." * William Alt lives in Pueblo, Colo. "I inherited a farm. That should be self-explanatory!" * Betty Harrison Andrews is a housewife in Colorado Springs. She enjoys showing Golden Retrievers, decorative painting and floral design. * Alice Brooks Barnes is owner of Barnes and Barnes, a bookkeeping service. She says she is too busy with business to have any interesting outside interests. One son graduated and is now working for Kemper. "Our two 13-year-old dogs died and now we are looking for fresh dogs. That's the total story." * Bill Bentley is president of Bentley's Produce, Inc. in Claremont, Calif. He is an avid bicycle rider who can lead a demanding tour. * Art Berglund resides in Colorado Springs, where he is USA Hockey's director of national teams and international programs. * Juliana Bohlke Berry works part-time at the Renew Christian Resource Center in Hastings, Neb., and makes miniature quilts in her spare time. * Betty Rouse Cahill is retired and living with her husband in Durango, Colo. They sold their California business in 1992. * Charles Campbell has been an architect in private practice for 20 years, designing medical and recreational/institutional facilities and doing custom residential work. He is married to Deborah Adams-Campbell '74, president of the El Paso County Bar Association. One daughter, Heather, is in graduate school in Seattle and another daughter, Colie, lives in Bozeman, Mont. Charles says they have plenty of room for visitors. They live in Colorado Springs and can be reached via e-mail at 103157.333@compuserve.com. * Brad Chase is senior vice president and director of trading at D.E. Frey and Co. Inc. He lives in Littleton, Colo. * Lynne Vincent Cheney lives in Dallas and commutes regularly to Washington, D.C., to co-host CNN's "Crossfire" on Sundays. She also works as senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. She serves on a number of corporate and philanthropic boards, including the Reader's Digest Association, Lockheed-Martin and the Grand Teton Music Festival. In 1995, Simon & Shuster published "Telling the Truth," her book on the culture wars. This year, they will also reissue an updated version of "Kings of the Hill," a book Lynne co-wrote with her husband, Dick, about Congress. Dick is now chairman and CEO of Halliburton Company. They try to get to Jackson Hole, Wyo., whenever they can. Their most important news: "We have a granddaughter, Kate Perry, now 2 years old."

'64 Sarah Clifford Sheehan organized the 14th annual "Books on the Beach" with History Professor Tim Cheek. "Books on the Beach" is an event for San Francisco Bay Area alumni and parents held each spring at the beach house of Bob '61 and Joyce Archer '62 Selig. * William Ward was named to the board of trustees of El Pomar Foundation in Colorado Springs. He is senior vice president of NW Transport Service in Denver and a trustee of Colorado College.

'66 Robert Archer lives in Portland, Ore., with his wife, Linda, and their two sons. He is a journeyman union carpenter, a self-employed contractor/carpenter and a real estate investor. * Kate Bevlin Cruikshank is assistant professor in the department of curriculum and instruction at Indiana University in Bloomington. * Teri Lumley Huff is vice president of production, distribution and revenue at Junior Achievement, Inc., in Colorado Springs. * Richard Johnson is director of enterprise development for Europe and N.I.S., U.S. Agency For International Development in Washington, D.C.

'67 Neil Hamilton is the author of "Zealotry and Academic Freedom, A Legal and Historical Perspective." He is a professor of law at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn.

'68 Steve Andrews is sole proprietor of Solar Spectra in Denver. * Eve Tilley Chavez was pictured in costume on the cover of the Gazette Telegraph's Arts & Entertainment Guide on March 22, which was showcasing Colorado Springs' local theatre scene. * Dixie McGuire is retired and living in Colorado Springs. * Don Salisbury, owner of Knights Creek Nursery in Weston Township, Wis., made the Dunn County News after donating 1,200 shrubs to the Menomonie School District for placement at the district's schools.

'69 Stoddard Crane has accepted a position as vice president of business growth for Darden Restaurants (Red Lobster and Olive Garden), headquartered in Orlando, Fla. * Sarah Daniel is the author of a sonnet, "After the War," which was published in the January 1996 issue of Auberon Wauph's Literary Review. * Mike Egger is a candidate for U.S. Congress in Texas. * Patricia Ferullo Halperin and three colleagues have opened RiverWay Center for Psychotherapy, Education and Expressive Arts in Augusta, Maine. * Robert Kidd is a consultant in Hillsborough, Ore. * Jane Lubchenco, a professor in the department of zoology at Oregon State University, along with her husband, also on faculty at OSU, were appointed as Wayne and Gladys Valley Professors of Marine Biology. This appointment extends the scope of their work while offering financial assistance and enhanced research opportunities to their graduate and undergraduate students. * Catherine Meier Taylor is office manager at Minkemann & Associates, C.P.A., in Anchorage, Alaska.

'70 Kathy Adelsheim co-owns Airport Road Videos in Santa Fe, N.M. * John Campbell, in anticipation of the CC Tigers making it to the NCAA Final 4 in Cincinnati, helped fellow alumni with the initial plans for events before going to Australia on business. He made it back to Cincinnati only days before the tournament started. * Kathleen Johnson Pigott is manufacturing and engineering manager at Kraft Foods in Woburn, Mass.

'71 25th Reunion: Oct. 18-20 * Susan Bagley is associate professor in the department of biological sciences at Michigan Technological University in Houghton. * James Berry is chief operating officer at Holland Systems Corporation in Lansing, Mich. * Kerry Smothers Freeman is taking courses at Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. * Roger Hein is vice president and public finance banker at Kirkpatrick Pettis in Denver. * Gail Turner, a cardiologist at the Golden Rainbow Valley HeartCare and Healing Center in Payson, Ariz., was given master faculty status in the American Medical Women's Association Project on Coronary Disease. * Marcie Wexler lives in Toronto, where she is the Eastern Canadian district coordinator for Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, a position that, she explains, is comparable to a bishop in other denominations.

'78 Catherine Craig Murphy is director of sales and promotions at Cuchara Ski Valley in Cuchara, Colo. * George Nickerson teaches at the Land of Lakes Senior Public School in Huntsville, Ontario. * Steve Olshansky is nearing the completion of his master's degree in telecommunications at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He is the webmaster for the official state of Colorado website, and is training and consulting in the fields of data communications, networking and the Internet. * James Regan and Nita Howard '83 were married Aug. 12 in Denver. '79 Annie Chappell lives in Leeds, Mass., where she is finishing a master's degree in environmental studies and doing freelance natural science illustration. * Curtis Christofferson is president of Christofferson Commercial Builders, Inc., in Colorado Springs, where he lives with his wife, Connie, and their two children. * Diana DeGette is running for the 1st U.S. Congressional District seat in Colorado with children and family as the cornerstone of her campaign. * Gordon Johnson and Janet Russell were married Jan. 14 in Washington, D.C., right after the "Blizzard of '96". Gordon said it "made D.C. seem almost like C.C." Gordon is a facilities assistant for WETA in Arlington, Va. * Lori Kennedy owns High Peaks Gallery in Breckenridge, Colo. * Nancy Melzer and Phil Lemaster were married Oct. 20 in Ann Arbor, Mich, where Nancy is a financial analyst at Ford Motor Co.

'80 Nancy Bristow was granted tenure at the University of Puget Sound, where she is an assistant professor of history. * Brian Feeney is a graduate student in the department of mass media and communication at Temple University in Philadelphia. * Katheryn Myrick Schneider lives in Rice Lake, Wis., and teaches Introduction to Computers and Word Processing part-time at the Barren Center at the University of Wisconsin. * Scott Schoelzel is executive vice president and portfolio manager of Janus Olympus Fund at Janus Funds in Denver. * Orville Seschillie is a physician assistant at the V.A. Hospital in Seattle, Wash. * Janet Smith and Tim Bair were married Nov. 22 in Los Altos, Calif. The research allows her three months per year in the field in the Northern Territories and Western Queensland where she is still looking for her very own Crocodile Dundee! * Tina Scott and Michael Perkocha were married in September of 1994. In attendance was Brian O'Connor '82. Curtis is in his third year at a middle school, where he teaches computers and coaches basketball. He reports his teams were about as good as a CC team known as Gangja's Monsters "if you know what I mean." '83 Laura Baird-Laylin is assistant vice president at New York Life Insurance Company in New York. * Jennifer Lidke Barber is a library assistant at the Library Processing Center in Ft. Myers, Fla. * Bettina Gelbjerg-Hansen and Mark Michaels were married Aug. 26, 1995. They live in Prague where Bettina studies photography. Over Christmas they met up with Ted Sulger '84 and his wife, Leslie, in Chicago, where Bettina and Mark plan to return to live next year. They welcome visitors to Prague, saying it's worth "CZECH-ing out!" * Todd and Laura Harvey Olds live in Annapolis, Md., where Todd has a home renovation business. * Karl Rysted and his wife, Sharon, live in Moore, Okla., with their two children, Kirsten and Kevin. He has returned to Washington, D.C., for a two-year assignment as Country Affairs Officer for Russia at U.S.I.A. * Susan Kotval Figgs and her husband, Jeffrey, have started a Calvary Chapel in Greeley, Colo. * Carol Horton and Gary Herrigel were married June 11, 1994. Carol is an assistant professor in the political science department at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. * Lisa Bryce Lewis and husband David live in Bellingham, Wash., where Lisa is regional director for the Global Rivers Environmental Education Network. Tim is on the winemaking staff at Murphy-Goode Winery in Geyserville, Calif. and Amber is studying in St. Petersburg, Russia. * Matthew Price teaches art and English at the Vela School in Umtata, the capital of Transkei, a former black homeland for the Amaxhosa people of South Africa. * Mark Thomas is a staff consultant at Price Waterhouse in Seattle. * Frederick Vanden Bergh and Katrina Blair '91 were married Aug. 19, 1995, in Durango, Colo. Alumni in attendance were Todd Burke '91, Tamar Ehrlich '91, Sue Kerrigan '91, Bill Wagner '91, Rob '92 and June Steely '92 Hunter, Travis Eiseman '93, and Amber Johnstone '93. They live in California, where Frederick attends the University of California at Berkeley for a Ph.D. in geology. '95 Seth Brown is the media relations paraprofessional at Colorado College. * Jeff Brune organized an event at Jackson's Hole in Denver for alumni to gather and watch CC play in the WCHA Final 4. The event was a great success despite the fact that alumni were watching the CC game but listening to the Colorado Avalanche game. * Samantha Elliman is on the ski patrol at Taos Ski Valley in Taos, N.M. * Brett Gardner is a lighting technician at Upstaging, Inc. in Mundelein, Ill. * James Kesler and Emily Aaker were married June 30, 1995. James is a lab technician at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. * Scott Nilsen and Megan Bradley '96 were married Dec. 16 in Estes Park, Colo. * Jennifer Rudnick is a lab technician at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, N.M. * Pamela Stone is a physical therapy rehabilitation technician with The Colorado Athletic Conditioning Clinic in Aurora, Colo. * Sarah VanDeusen and Rey Phillips-Santos '93 were married Dec. 30 in Shove Chapel. Sarah is a group leader at Creative Play Center at Prairie Hills Elementary School in Colorado Springs.

'96 Kishen Mangat completed the New York Marathon in just over three hours. He finished 1,075 out of 28,000 and was the second finisher from Ohio.
