'30 Marjorie Ferguson Lambert was inducted into the Colorado Springs High School Palmer Alumni Association's Hall of Fame at an October ceremony.

'34 Joseph Arnold lives in Scottsdale Village Square, a retirement community in Scottsdale, Ariz.

'36 60th Reunion: May 17-19

'38 Helen Ward Carroll spent the summer in northern Arizona's White Mountains to escape the Phoenix heat. * Jean Fontius Cartwright received the "Director's Award" from the Museum of New Mexico in recognition of outstanding volunteer services. * William M. French and his wife, Alberta, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in February. * Louis Henke and wife Nancy spent October on an adventure in the "boonies of Madagascar," where they saw one species of each still existing family and genera of lemur. * Mary Ella Gilmore Magnusson and husband Art have ended their covered wagon adventures and now create stained-glass art and manage timber at their western Montana ranch near Frenchtown. * Louise Schiddel McCracken, the class expert on life care retirement centers, moved from one in Connecticut to "a fabulous Spanish style" center near Santa Barbara. * Alf Owens, former El Paso County fair board member and Colorado manager, was honored in June when the county commission permanently affixed his name to the fair's indoor livestock arena.

'39 Mary Beth Stewart Wedberg and husband Stanley's latest adventures included a Mediterranean cruise with visits to Carthage, Malta and the Greek island of Lesbos, in addition to an inaugural trip on the American Queen, owned by the Delta Queen Steamboat Company.

'40 Malcolm Richards celebrated his birthday with a mini CC reunion of family members in Westcliffe, Colo. The Labor Day trip included his wife, Lois Hicks Richards '42, daughter Meredyth Richards Tippin '62, and husband Scott Tippin '61, son Malcolm Jr. '65, daughter Ann Richards Alexander '75, and her two daughters. Malcolm reported that a good time was had by all.

'46 50th Reunion: May 17-19 * Lyn Konugres Coupounas retired in November from her practice at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, Mass.

'47 In October, Eric Bransby, retired professor emeritus of the University of Missouri in Kansas City, participated in a four-day symposium and centennial exhibition on the process of making murals. It was held at the Gallery of the Art Students League American Fine Arts Society in Manhattan.

'50-'53 45th Reunion: Oct. 18-20

'50 Bo-Gustaf Bergh retired as vice president of Tikkurila OY, the largest paint producer in Finland. He lives near Helsinki, Finland, where he manages farming property he owns with his two sons. * Regina Conway McKernan and husband Ed moved to Ventura, Calif., where they are enjoying their new surroundings. * Jack Quamme was inducted into the Colorado Springs High School Palmer Alumni Association's Hall of Fame at an October ceremony.

'52 Donald Cook received a Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) planning grant funded by Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories. He used the grant to help establish The Children's Clinic in Greeley, Colo.

'54 Patricia Gray Thomas lives in Knox, Ind., where she is a freelance editor and writer. She notes that her move from the center of Chicago has "mightily tested my ability to accept change."

'56 Ian Duncan is a partner with Duncan & Peale in Steamboat Springs, Colo. * Earlene Sebaugh and Vincent Cancilla were married Sept. 17 in New Hope, Pa. Alumni present included Margaret Vincent Gravette and Lowell Sharpe McMullin. Earlene is a supervisor for clean community and recycling programs at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

'57 Meredith McCombs Dalebout is the school library/media specialist for School District 11 in Colorado Springs. * Anne Cogswell Trostel Galbraith and her husband, Whitney Galbraith, have a new publication, "Rights in America," a monthly digest for people concerned with the direction and role of rights in our society.

'59 Dan Crecelius, a history professor at California State University in Los Angeles, received a Fulbright grant to edit and annotate an Arabic manuscript description of Cairo in the mid-17th century. He and an Egyptian scholar will be in Cairo from April through December to complete the project. * Steven Guralnick is a partner with the law firm of Kyriakis & Guralnick in Daly City, Calif.

'64 Ann Barber Lindell, a chapter one teacher at Fairfax Elementary School in Terrace Park, Ohio, received the Ashland Oil Golden Apple Award in June. * In November, Solomon Nkiwane, visiting professor of international relations, presented "Colorado College Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations." In 1994, he was an observer with the United Nations of the first democratic elections in South Africa.

'74 Jay Engeln and a group of high school students attempted to make it into the "Guiness Book of World Records" by dribbling a soccer ball 20 miles up the Pikes Peak Highway. The 10-hour event, which was filmed by ESPN, helped raise money for the Palmer High School library where Jay is principal. He has yet to hear if a world record was set. * Marc Goalstone does research and teaches at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver in the department of endocrinology. * When she's not managing their three bilingual German/American boys and teaching English and Spanish part-time, Deborah Lehman-Irl is involved in a volunteer effort to save the Danube. Deborah, her husband Josef, and their family live along the last 70 kilometers of free-flowing Danube left in Germany. Josef visited the German House in March, 21 years after he was the head resident there. * C.G. Lindsey is manager for meteorological programs at Sonoma Technology in Santa Rosa, Calif. '75 Bruce and Kate Dunn '76 Mansfield celebrated their 20th anniversary on Dec. 20. They were married in Shove Chapel and still enjoy long walks through the campus. They say "hi" to all their friends and college cohorts. * Tim Myers, a professional storyteller, has published 30 poems in various journals including "Storytelling Magazine," "The Lyric," and "Modern Haiku." Tim, a stay-at-home father, is currently writing "What Women Have Always Known -And Then Some: A Man's Guide to Being Home With Kids." * Martin Walton is the hospital chaplain at the Psychiatric Hospital Brinkgreven in Deventer, The Netherlands.

'76 20th Reunion: Oct. 18-20 * After nine years as a pediatric critical care nurse, Deborah Bennett is enjoying staying home with her sons, Christopher, 7, and Shaun, 5. * On sabbatical from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Miami, Frank Bowman is on loan as Special Counsel to the United States Sentencing Commission in Washington, D.C. '79 Tom Blickensderfer, a senator representing Englewood, Littleton and Sheridan, Colo., received an 80 percent approval rating from the Colorado Union of Taxpayers for his support of legislation that has a positive impact on taxpayers. * Maria Lopez Evans teaches business and office education at Hanna High School in Brownsville, Texas. * Julie Goodwin is a physician's assistant at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston. * Marcia Maynard and James Fischer were married July 16 in Vancouver, Wash. Marcia is interpreter/accessibility coordinator at Southwest Washington Medical Center and was featured in April on MacNeil Lehrer News Hour for her part in the hospital's access program. * Barbara Sommer was awarded a Fulbright grant to conduct research in Brazil. She will research the interaction among Indians, Spanish Jesuits and Portuguese colonists on the Amazon during the Colonial period. * Wendy Weiss is on faculty development leave from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln to travel extensively in India, Poland and Norway. She received a Norwegian Marshall Fund Fellowship and the Nebraska Master Artist of the Year Award.

'84 Amy Frey is a resident in anesthesiology at the University of California-San Francisco Medical Center. * Lynne Goldstein Rudov is assistant to the president at S. Freedman & Sons, Inc., in Landover, Md. * Eric Sanford lives in Keller, Texas, with his wife, Teri, and son Colin. He works for Valuation Information Technology as an area appraisal manager. * Steve Wood teaches mural painting to juvenille offenders through Workout, Ltd., a non-profit organization in Colorado Springs. The students paint murals on the city's overpasses and underpasses.

'85 Marcia Caton is marketing manager at Orlando Museum of Art in Orlando, Fla. * David Crabtree is clinical director at Central Valley Group Homes, Inc. in Fresno, Calif. * Eric Foster is a legislative advisor/attorney with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. * Jim Frink successfully completed the Paris-Brest-Paris in August. The PBP is a 750-mile bicycling endurance/sleep deprivation event held every four years in France. He finished with a time of 58 hours, 45 minutes. * Geoffrey Gushee lives in Francistown, Botswana, where he works as a geologist in the Phoenix Mine in northeast Botswana. * Annabeth Headrick is a visiting assistant professor in the art department at Baylor University. * Susan Sherman Hennessy is an assistant professor of French at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Ark. * Amanda MacCallum-Gamble is a clinical social worker for Family and Child Services in Washington, D.C. * Justin Magruder is a project manager at EDS in Morris Plains, N.J. *Kathleen Purfield and Mark Wollert were married June 25, 1994.
