’43  John and Barbara Donaghy Chapman are retired and living in Grand Junction, Colo.

’47 55th Reunion – Oct. 11-13, 2002!  Eric Bransby was honored as the first Honorary Signature Member of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society at its 15th Annual Signature Member Exhibit and Sale in November. Eric received a grant from the Pollock-Krasucer Foundation to support artistic production for the period June ’01- June ’02, and he and his wife, Mary Ann, were presented in a “Double Retrospective Exhibition” at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center over the summer. Eric is also directing a restoration of the Cossitt Rotunda Mural.

’48 Edward Ellinwood was inducted into the 2001 Hall of Fame at Palmer High School (formerly Colorado Springs High School) at a ceremony in September.

’52  50th Reunion – Oct. 11-13, 2002!  Allen Mathies was inducted into the 2001 Hall of Fame at Palmer High School (formerly Colorado Springs High School) at a ceremony in September. • Donald McKee retired from Paine Webber, Inc., in March after 40 years. He lives in San Diego. • The author of seven books and numerous articles, Edward Spann is now a professor emeritus of history at Indiana State University, completing a 42-year career of college teaching. He has four children and two grandchildren.

’53  Mary Carnaby Schaberg and her husband, Ralph, celebrated 50 years of marriage in February. They have five children and seven grandchildren.

’55  Joyce Somerville Tombre has lived in Oslo, Norway, for 45 years. She retired after 24 years as a librarian and welcomes visits from classmates.

’56  Thomas Mason dropped by the Alumni Office in October during a visit to the campus. He couldn’t believe how the campus has grown since he was a student in the 1950s.

’58  Gale Belinky and Richard Nord were married Feb. 4, 2001. They live in Claverack, N.Y., where Gale is retired. • William “Red” Hay was inducted into the Colorado Springs Sports Hall of Fame at a ceremony in November.

’59  Bill Gappert reports that he was integrally involved in planning the 75th anniversary festivities for Schwaben A.C., a club soccer team in the Chicago area.

’61  Classes of ’61, ’62, ’63 – 40th Cluster Reunion – Oct. 11-13, 2002!  Ida-Anne Hopper Clarke retired in January 1999 from the Coca-Cola USA Engineering Department in Atlanta, after 14 years of service. She and her husband are enjoying retirement and live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia.

’62  Classes of ’61, ’62, ’63 – 40th Cluster Reunion – Oct. 11-13, 2002!  Ron Garvin has been promoted to vice chairman of the Board of Veterans’ Affairs in Washington, D.C. Ron pursued a second career in the VA following his 26 years in the Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps, where he achieved the rank of captain. • Robert Genung retired in 1999 after over 30 years with the U.S. government. He has dual UK-U.S. citizenship, having lived and worked in the UK for almost 20 years.

’65  Glenn Bolsen is retired and living with his wife, Nanette, in La Mesa, Calif. • Charles Cicchetti is a co-founding partner of Pacific Economics Group and holds the Miller Chair in government, business and the economy at the University of Southern California.

’66  Sally Lentz Palmer and her family “persistently enjoy” the wide-open spaces of Wyoming. Sally teaches at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, and is also pastor of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Son Shawn graduated from CC in 1999.

’68  Classes of ’67 & ’68 – 35th Cluster Reunion – Oct. 11-13, 2002!  Skip Clark is the chair of the Department of History at the State University of West Georgia in Carrollton. • Sharon Garland Coil is a media specialist at Cherry Creek High School in Denver. • Richard Stevenson and Lois Reed were married Aug. 4. Richard was named chief of the Water Rights and Contracts Branch for the Mid-Pacific Region of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. They live in Citrus Heights, Calif.

’69  Linda Bump Bruce was to have been training teachers in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, if recent events had not made travel in Central Asia unadvisable. She and her husband, Karl, are both independent consultants, allowing them the freedom to balance work, travel and involvement with their family, which now includes three grandchildren. • Jo Walsh and Alfred McDonnell were married July 7 in Boulder. They are both lawyers and practice in Denver.

’70  Jane Rawlings was named assistant to the publisher of The Pueblo Chieftain in Pueblo. Her father, Robert Rawlings ’47, is the publisher. She has been with the paper for five years and was working as the assistant to the general manager. • Robert Wolff and Wendy Oida were married March 3, 2001. Robert is associate pastor at Malibu Vineyard in Malibu, Calif.

’71  Linda Barton is city manager for Livermore, Calif. • David Dwyer and his wife, Vickie, celebrated 24 years of marriage in September. David owns Dwyer Engineering, Inc., a civil engineering/land surveying company in Las Vegas. • Michael King received the William Nordberg Memorial Award for Earth Science for his outstanding leadership as Senior Project Scientist of the NASA Earth Observing System and his scientific contributions in the field of radiative transfer. • Tracy Lees-Grant and family have moved from Florida to New Jersey. “Yes, we know we are going ‘the wrong way.’ ” They are adjusting to deer in the backyard instead of palm trees and saying ‘shore’ instead of ‘beach.’ Tracy accepted a position as corporate trainer with Pharmacia in Peapack, N.J. • Joe Tempel and Holly Cassidy were married Dec. 21. After 28 years with the Colorado Department of Transportation, Joe retired and is the new executive director of Dinosaur Ridge near Morrison, Colo.

’72  Classes of ’72 & ’73 – 30th Cluster Reunion – Oct. 11-13, 2002!  John Hawk is in his 26th year teaching in Colo-rado Springs. He teaches social studies at Mitchell High School. He and his wife, Pamela, have been married almost 20 years and have two daughters, Autumn and Heather. John is a long-time volunteer with the National Park Service, doing trail work at the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument and with Green Springs, planting trees throughout the community. He plans to retire at the end of the school year. • Ann Hooker works in environmental policy at NASA, in Alexandria, Va. Her son, George O’Dell, is a first-year student at CC. • Grover Marnet is president of Team-group Corporation in Las Vegas. • In June, Sally Oosterhous and her husband, Tony Barnston, moved to New York in time to say good-bye to Nancy Stern Bain ’73 and her family before they moved from Brooklyn to Austin, Texas. Nancy and family moved to be closer to extended family. They will keep their New York residence.

’74  Thomas Dumler resigned his position as assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine and department chief at the Polly Ryon Hospital to join Houston Radiology Associated. He is president of the medical staff and medical director at the Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.

’75  Brant Noziska is an attorney with Rockwood & Noziska in San Diego, Calif. In the fall, Brant joined a delegation of American lawyers in Cuba for an eight-day professional and cultural exchange with Cuban lawyers under the People-to-People Ambassadors Program. • John Prettyman regrets to report that his wife, Beth, died of leukemia on June 14 in Bloomington, Ind.

’76  Frank Bowman was voted tenure and promoted to full professor at Indiana University School of Law. He lives in Zionsville with his wife, Robin, and their three children. • Kimberly Davies has her own law practice in San Diego, Calif., and reports that she is still single. • Rex Dufour lives in Woodland, Calif., where he is manager of the National Center for Appropriate Technology – California. • David Malpass is chief global economist at Bear, Stearns & Co. in New York.

’78  Linda Johnson Boyles received the Chapter Advisor Award at the Order of Omega, Greek Excellence Awards on April 4, 2001, in Colorado Springs. • Jeffrey Garrison reports that he is “hanging out in Vienna on leave without pay – meaning I’m a kept man.” • Jeannette Barnes Lessels is a full-time graduate student in library studies at the University of Alabama. She won the Pushcart Prize in poetry in 2001. • Marjorie Thompson is director of cause-related marketing for Octagon House in London.

’79  Constance Shellabarger Chamberlain is a research specialist in the Department of Biology at Arizona State University in Tempe. • In 2000, Tom Fallon finished climbing all the Colorado 14ers, 21 years to the week after climbing his first in 1979 with Rich Mietz. Tom and his wife, Cyndi Kanyer ’83 Fallon, live in Divide, Colo., with their daughters, Melissa and Isabella. They are celebrating 20 years of marriage and 20 years of owning Piramide, a clothing store in Manitou Springs. • Richard Hersack is Air Force Surgeon General at the Air War College at Maxwell AFB, Ala.

’80  Beth Calkins Brown is a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Colorado in Denver, where she lives with her husband, Wayne, and their daughter, Paige. • Howard Garrett founded and directs the non-profit organization, Orca Conservancy, raising awareness about Washington’s orca population and protecting and restoring their habitat. • Dirk Tyler and Chris Haymons ’92 opened Headwaters MB, a middle-market merchant banking firm in downtown Denver.

’81  Don Pacheco lives in Denver, where he is on the board of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. • Beth Whitehair Trammell is president of Full Circle Systems, a software and systems integration firm in Lakewood, Colo. She lives in Conifer with her husband, Jim, and their children, Lauren and Tyler.

’82  20th Reunion – Oct. 11-13, 2002!  Debra Barringer is a biologist/ecologist with J.F. Sato and Associates in Littleton, Colo. She bought a house in an historic Denver neighborhood and works to help solve some of Colorado’s traffic problems using environmentally sound practices. • Rich McClintock is program director of the newly created Livable Communities Support Center in Denver, a non-profit organization providing technical assistance to groups working on growth and sprawl issues. • Don Remlinger and his wife, Barbara, live in Lake Oswego, Ore., with their children, Nicholas, Andrew and Benjamin. They enjoy a full life in the Great Northwest and look forward to the 20th reunion in October.

’83  Peter Hovland lives in Madison, Wis., where he is a physician. • Debbie Urioste works at the Emergency Medical Care Center in Pueblo. • Greg Wright is director of the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minn.

’84  Blake Catterall is facilities supervisor at AT&T Broadband in Denver. He lives in Aurora with his wife, Becky, and their children, Candace and Connor. • Jo Chataway is a senior lecturer in development management at the Open University in Milton Keynes, London. • Jennifer Cook was elected president of the Mountain-Plains Museums Association, a group that serves individuals and institutions within a 10-state region. Jennifer is associate director of the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center in Pueblo. • Gavin Ehringer completed his fifth non-fiction book, Rodeo Legends, published by Western Horsemen Press. • Joe Henning was awarded the Stuart L. Bernath Book Prize by the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations for his book, Outposts of Civilization: Race, Religion, and the Formative Years of American-Japanese Relations. Joe is a professor in the history department at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. • Kelly Green McQueen spent six weeks in Sri Lanka on a mission with Doctors Without Borders in a town below the Jaffna Peninsula called Mallavi. She was the only anesthesiologist in a 150-bed state hospital, and the hospital’s conditions, large number of cases and limited medical supplies made her work challenging. Kelly also has worked for Operation Smile in China, Jordan, Brazil and Peru and taught anesthesiology in Tanzania. • Jane Wilson represented Colorado College at the inauguration of Donna Shalala as the next president of the University of Miami. Jane is the director of the Matsunaka for Governor Exploratory Committee in Denver.

’85  Kristen Ames and Mark Lovelace were married Oct. 13 in Oklahoma City. • Curt Chanda is the founder of SHARE International, Inc., a small education and development company working in Central Asia, particularly Kazakhstan. He has been the firm’s director for five years. • Anna Headrick and Ross Kauffman were married May 28, 2000, on Lake Washington in Seattle. Alumni in attendance were Lucinda Beyer Headrick ’59, Brooks Gentleman ’83, Kurt Steinbergs ’83, Kristi Parker Celico, Lauren Gipe, Greg and Linnet McLellan ’87 O’Hanlon, Jon Lasley ’86, and Gordon ’87 and Cori Scott ’88 Whitaker.  They live in Nashville, Tenn. • Allen Hill and his business partner, John Catto ’82, finished their feature documentary, “Jump!” It was shown at the Denver International Film Festival in October, in Banff, Alberta, in November and at Vercors, France, in December. • Mark and Amanda Seaman ’86 Notz and their two children have relocated to Mansfield, Mass. They are both special education teachers and Mark is the assistant coach of the Wheaton lacrosse team.

’86  Curt Alfrey is a chief deputy district attorney in Denver. • Mark Douglass is owner/manager of Douglass Funeral Service, a sixth-generation funeral home in Lexington, Mass. • In August, Lee Jackson moved to Egypt, where he is a graduate student in forced migration and refugee studies at the American University in Cairo. • Caren McInerney Murray reports that all is well in Cheyenne, Wyo. She and husband, Ed, are busy raising their daughters, Meghan, Erin, Kelley and Frannie. • Emily Pichon and Brad Finkel were married Nov. 19, 2000, in La Jolla, Calif. Alumnae in attendance were Kristi Parker Celico ’85 and Julie Gerstenfeld Schmitt. • Kip and Kathleen Mahoney Roe live in Jackson, Wyo. Kathleen is the assistant to the manager of the Jackson Hole Mountain Corporation and the director of the ski school and the snowboard school. • Suzi Rusho Rowe, husband Randy and children, Samantha and Hunter, are in Hawaii for the next three years. She’d love to hear from friends. • Michael Samuel is an account executive with Countrywide Home Loans in Rosemead, Calif. • After six years in the Philippines and Malaysia, Lee Sessions now lives in Portland, Ore., where he is a human resource development manager for Intel. • Marty Wakelyn lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Denise, and their son, Douglas. Marty took Douglas to his first hockey game when he was six weeks old – he scored his first victory against North Dakota just like his father did back in 1982.

’87  Liz Bernhard lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with her husband, Ben Huber, and their one-year-old daughter. • Sara Bratton Bradbury teaches sixth grade social studies and language arts at Goddard Middle School in Littleton, Colo. • Ann Deines and Dan Honious were married Aug. 4, in Dayton, Ohio. Alumnae in attendance were Stephanie Strum Donaldson, Juli Gammon and Jayne Philipp Reinhard. • Jennifer Mindel reported that she had quite the reunion summer. She saw Ron Warner in Boston in May, Ellen Stein on a layover in early August and Dave Evans in late August. Jen lives in Chicago, and despite her busy schedule she managed to teach design at a local design institute. • Jill Johnson Moreno and husband, Paul ’88, live in Langhorne, Pa., with their children, Perri and Mark. • Brian Smith is a recruiter with Volt Accounting Specialists in Portland, Ore. • Gayla Sullivan lives in Laurel, Del., with her husband, Richard, and their children, Caitlin and Daniel. • Brian and Jay Ferguson Wenzel live in Perth, Australia, where Brian is working on the Australian Project with Phillips Petroleum Company.

’88  Marshall Carr is vice president of operations and distribution for New Line Home Entertainment in Los Angeles, where he lives with his wife, Beth, and their daughters, Madeline and Isabel. • Raymond Clark is a research scientist at the University of California in San Diego. • John Hansen and his wife, Deanna, are in Washington, D.C., where they are working for the foreign service. They will go to Guinea, West Africa, in August. • Lisa Hempstead and husband, Scott Meskin ’85, live in Santa Fe, N.M., where Lisa has her own video production business, Let’s Make a Scene. • Peter Mahoney is a manager in the portfolio advisory group at Fidelity Investments in Boston. • Lisa Merman and family had a visit from Michele Book Ediger and her family in November to meet Lisa’s newborn daughter, Jordan. • Norberry Tile, founded in Seattle, Wash., by Craig Norberg, is featured in the Nov. 2001 issue of Architectural Digest. The business was formed in 1997 and is run by Craig and his wife, Katharine. • Julia Sterling lives in San Francisco, where she is a freelance yoga trainer and performance artist.

’89  David and Laura Keller ’90 Baylis live in St. Louis, Mo., with their daughters, Emma, Caroline, Lily and Meg. • Hollie Bohnn Black is a provider relations representative with Cap Management Systems in Houston. • Julie Sussman Eskenazi and husband, David, live in Indianapolis with their daughters, Amelia, Sophie and Annabella. • Craig Heacock is doing his residency in psychiatry in Providence, R.I., where he lives with his wife, Elizabeth, and their twins, Laina and Natalie. • Tim Johnson and Anke Fleming were married Oct. 6, in Madison, Wis. Tim’s sister, Anne Johnson Saloma ’90, was in attendance. They live in Madison, where Tim is in internet marketing with CUNA Mutual Group. • Lisa Fine Moses lives in Centennial, Colo., with her husband, Aubrey, and their sons, Samuel and Jakob. Lisa is an attorney with Knight and Moses, L.L.C., in Littleton. • Chip Sagal lives in San Diego, Calif., where he has started his own high-performance consulting company, Winning Mind. He recently finished his first book, Assessment in Sport Psychology, with Dr. Robert Nideffer. • In September, Meg Shaw was ordained and installed as associate pastor at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C. Her father, David Shaw ’57, participated in her ordination service. • Helmi Shepard lives in Denver and works as an E.S.L. teacher at DPT Business School. • Mike Ukropina is director of strategy and consumer packaging at International Paper in Memphis, Tenn. 

’90  Michael Cox is director of real estate development for Carrfour Corporation in Miami, Fla. • Keith Edwards works for Motorola in the Chicago area. He also practices North Indian tabla and builds robots. • Justin Eisenberg is a lieutenant with the Los Angeles Police Department. • Jim Eubanks is a postdoctoral associate with the University of Chicago in the Department of Human Genetics. He and his wife, Carol, have a daughter, Julia. • After seven years in a range of environmental jobs, Ross Freeman attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and is now a conservation scientist in the Seattle office of American Rivers. • John Hollingsworth is a fellow in pulmonary and critical care at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. • Naomi Cohen Ivker lives in Birmingham, Ala., with her husband, Joshua, their son, Gabriel, two cats, one dog and a tankful of fish. She is an attorney with Zarzaur & Schwartz, P.C. • Keller Kimbrough is an assistant professor of Japanese at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. • Ilana Steinberg, husband Ray Merenstein and children Ely and Hannah have moved back to Denver. • Stephanie Trovas is a marketing strategy manager with the Center for Creative Leadership in Colorado Springs.

’91  David Bennett is married and living in a suburb of New York City. He works for a successful consulting firm he co-founded in 1995 and would love to hear from friends. • Krista Caufman is director of the Writing Center at Colorado College. • Casey Clapsaddle works for Rivers Unlimited in Boalsburg, Pa. • Bob Hartman lives in Rochester, Minn., with his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Brenna. • Caroline Jones Hollingsworth is a staff radiologist at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. • Jonathan Knight is remarried and living in the San Francisco Bay Area. He works for Maxis and is producing the sequel to the computer game “The Sims.” He says he has a score to settle with Billy Phenix, “so tell him to track me down!” • Paige Neifert and Craig Bedard were married June 16 in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Paige is a flight surgeon at Patrick AFB, Fla. She was promoted to major in April 2001. • Laura Phillips lives on a tugboat in Seattle, Wash., with her husband, Eric Rasmussen, and their daughter, Clara. • Katherine Reagan lives in Durham, N.C., where she works as a toxicologist. • Julie Rothschild is an apprentice with the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange in Takoma Park, Md. She lives in Silver Spring with her husband, Paul Sutter, and their sons, Henry and Wyatt. • Tracy Stegall teaches sixth grade language arts and reading in the Monarch K-8 School in Boulder Valley. She ran the Rock-N-Roll Marathon in San Diego last June and has her sights set on the Nashville Marathon this spring. • David Thrower and Misti Gossett were married Aug. 11 in Arvada, Colo. Alumni in attendance were George Dikeou ’60, Doug Christman ’75, Randy Bernard, Mary Quinn Birnesser and Brian Burke. • Karl Uhrig and Mindy Mattingly were married Aug. 18 in Colorado Springs. • Shaharra Usnick and Robert Kaczanowski were married May 26 in Shove Chapel. Alumna Lisa Lehman ’92 was in the wedding party. Shaharra is a research entomologist for the USDA Agricultural Research Service. 

’92  10th Reunion – Oct. 11-13, 2002!  Adam Glassman is a computer systems administrator with AT&T Wireless in Bothell, Wash. • Tamara Goodlette attends Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, Calif. • Colin Goodwin teaches fourth and fifth grade language arts at The Harken School in San Jose, Calif. • Kirk Granum is an accounting liaison with the American Councils for International Education in Washington, D.C. • Chris Haymons and Dirk Tyler ’80 opened Headwaters MB, a middle-market merchant banking firm in downtown Denver. Chris is the managing director. • Ethan Hemming and Nicole Tembrock were married on Aug. 25 in Winter Park, Colo. Alumni in attendance were Christine Allison ’91, Dale ’91 and Jennifer Yates ’91 Peterson and Mindy Klowden ’94. • Jason Hilkey and Cecilia Wuller were married in September in Manhattan Beach, Calif. Jason is an assistive technology specialist for Goodwill Industries of Orange County. • Randy Holmes spent six weeks in Southeast Asia, where he met with the Beijing Olympic Committee. He works for Choice Point in Atlanta, Ga. • Dorothy Barnes Kellner lives in Superior, Colo., where she is a stay-at-home mom to sons Brennen and Quinn. • Charry Korgel and Michael Morris were married July 7 in Beaver Creek, Colo. Alumni in attendance were Shelley Separovich ’90, Christian ’90 and Meredith Anzelc ’91 Spesia, Mark Doherty ’91, Jen Rodi Hoglin ’91, Christy Valpey ’91, Tami Carteen Lightle, Robyn Neigel Saarenas, Chad and Teri Johnson ’91 Wright and Tara Nott ’94. They live in Vail, where Charry teaches skiing and yoga in the winter. During the past summer, she played soccer for the Atlanta Beat of the WUSA women’s soccer league. • Peter Langdon and Darcy Huertematte were married Sept. 22 in Washington, D.C. Alumni in attendance were Tim Coury, Ian Dalsemer and Chris Gilmore. • Doug Lansky has written a book, Last Trout in Venice: The Far-Flung Escapades of an Accidental Adventurer, a compilation of Doug’s essays and articles about his globe-trotting adventures. • Robert Naeser is a senior environmental scientist with Tetra Tech, Inc., in Evergreen, Colo. • Kim Nearpass-Pollack lives in Portland, Ore., where she is a student at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. • Rebecca Neumann is an assistant professor in economics at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. • Orion Poplawski and Kimberly King were married July 8. Alumni in attendance were Perry Brown ’93, Sung Chang ’93, Diana DiStefano ’93, Jon Elsberg ’93, Alan Mishell ’93, Alex Olsen ’93 and Matt Wiley ’93. • Jody Shear and Paul Glaser were married Sept. 22. Jody is a management supervisor with Yates Advertising in San Francisco.

’93  Brigitta Alkofer has been on campus teaching in the Romance Languages Department while Salvatore Bizzarro is in Florence. • Kristen Anderson wrote the book The Truth About Sex by High School Senior Girls. • Andrea Savona Brown is a second-year family practice resident physician at Maine Medical Center in Kennebunkport. • Lea Casperson is a staff physician at Chapa-De Indian Health, Inc., in Auburn, Calif. • Lisa Greer and Robert Humston were married April 1, 2000.
