’35 Mark your calendars! Your 65th reunion will be celebrated Oct. 13-15, 2000! John and Mary Hyatt ‘37 Day celebrated their 62nd anniversary Nov. 3. They have five children, 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In 1958, John retired as professor emeritus of physics from Linfield College in Oregon. He continues to teach meteorology there.

’38 Robert Summers moved from Costa Rica and now resides in Golden, Colo.

’43 Eldon Crissman owns the Mt. Washington Apartments in Colorado Springs. He is sad to report that his second wife, Gladys, passed away in March 1999. * The Palmer Foundation Board in Colorado Springs named an award in honor of Stuart P. Dodge, a native of Colorado Springs who has donated both time and talent toward preserving open space in the Pikes Peak Region and around the state. The Stuart P. Dodge Award will be presented annually to a champion of open space preservation efforts.

’44 Tom Fox is a financial consultant with the Fiducial Triple Check Tax and Financial Service in Peoria, Ariz. He is also chairman of the board of governors of the Metropolitan Club in Sun City. * In August, Penelope Corya Schuler MAT ’74 was featured in the Greenwich Times for the dance competitions she takes part in through the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of West Hartford. She studied dance with Honya Holm while a student at CC, and believes that "dancing keeps you fit."

’45 Wynn Coomer lives in Denver, where he retired as a brigadier general for the Air Force Reserves and a captain for United Airlines.

’49 Greg Ashe and Mac Toll ’73 volunteer at Planned Parenthood in Denver on Saturdays escorting patients into the clinic. Greg also does other volunteer work there during the week. * Dan Bursch is retired and living in Owosso, Mich.

’50 Don’t miss it! Your 50th reunion will be celebrated Oct. 13-15, 2000! Ward Gongoll is the retired director of the Graduate School of Theology in Washington, D.C. He lives in Hyattsville, Md.

’51 Mike and Jane Pollock ’50 Ohl wonder why more classmates aren’t listed on CC’s Alumni Hotlinks Web site. They plan to attend Jane’s 50th reunion in October.

’52 Helen Kuh Changras owns A-1 Notary Service in Pleasanton, Calif., and is "always glad to hear from fellow classmates." * Elsie Walden Cook reported that her husband, Donald, was installed as the president of the American Academy of Pediatrics at the national meeting in Washington, D.C., in October.

’55 Richard Hayes is retired and living in Boulder. * Judith Clave Layng retired in 1996 as professor emerita of opera from Oberlin College Conservatory. She is a global justice advocate for the United Church of Christ/Office for Church in Society in Washington, D.C. * Todd Sermon has completed seminary training in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and is an ordained Canon 7 Priest in the Episcopal Church.

’56 Sara Sheldon is researching a sequel to her novel, Operation Restore America. Her new book will detail the Marine Corps Chemical Biological Response Force. She was a VIP guest at Camp Lejeune, N.C., where she interviewed members and observed an exercise in reconnaissance and decontamination.

’58 Coralie Allen lives in Minneapolis, where she is health care coordinator for the Minneapolis Bureau of Elections.

’59 William Hooper lives in Roseville, Calif., where he is a consultant for Raytheon, Corp.

’60 Don Robertson is retired and spends his time traveling America’s back roads in an RV.* Jack Tench, an Episcopal priest, is retiring after 35 years of parish ministry. He has served in Illinois, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Pakistan, and several parishes in western Washington, most recently St. Luke’s in Seattle. He and his wife, Joan, are moving to Tucson, Ariz.

’62 Patricia Adams Black, Diane Elliott McConnell and Mary Francis Glasscock Koerner ’61 held a mini-reunion in Colorado Springs in September, and stopped by the alumni office while touring the campus. * Larry Mingus teaches computer science at North Boone High School in Poplar Grove, Ill. He is also involved in real estate and has no plans to retire. He is pursuing a master’s degree, which he hopes to have completed in November.

’63 Ennis Pennington is retired and living with his wife, Leona, in Weatherford, Texas. * Alice Parsons Petrich is president of Aalco Pacific, Inc., in Federal Way, Wash. She has three grown children, four stepsons, and four grandchildren. She and husband Gerald live on Puget Sound, between Seattle and Tacoma, and spend part of their winter in Hawaii. * Rob Pittaway reports, "We still live in the same place. However, I renew my soul every five years at our class reunion. Tigers may feast on education but what do culture vultures eat for breakfast?" Send your answers to Rob at 220 N. He and his wife, Martha, live in Bellefonte, Penn. * William Powell is superintendent of the Stasburg, Colo. school district. He and his wife, Kathie, have two sons at home, John, 6, and Kelso, 2. "They keep us young at heart." Their oldest son Roger works and lives in Denver. * Tom Ravin writes that he and his wife, Karen, are lucky enough to be living in the house he grew up in, surrounded by CC graduates. "For the last 15 years I have been doing orthopedic medicine. One of the major therapies I do is an injection technique called prolotherapy, which can tighten ligaments." * Karen Hedblom Romine is a clinical instructor at the Baptist College of Health Sciences in Memphis. * Kathleen Anderson Sauls is retired. She lives with her husband, Wayne, in Spanaway, Wash., with their oldest and youngest daughters plus two-year-old grandson. "I was lucky enough to retire in 1998 and take care of my grandson while my daughter goes to school and works. Being a grandma is heavenly." * Fred Singleton retired five years ago as a high school principal. Since then he has worked part time as field director for the Illinois Principals Association, and divided his time between Highland, Ill., (home) and Punta Gorda, Fla, where he spends time with new granddaughter, Rebecca. * Russ Sperry is senior information analyst and Web site coordinator for Ventura County, Calif., where he has survived Y2K remediation of the county’s mainframe database systems. He expects to be working several more years.

’67 Sehoy Savage Brown is a counselor for the Richmond School District in Richmond, Ind. *Pete Richards, vice president and creative director at the new Tyron Center for Visual Arts in Charlotte, N.C., assumed his position in September 1998, leaving San Francisco’s Exploratorium, where he served as director of arts programs since 1971. *Tom Zetterstrom will exhibit "Portraits of American Trees" at the Tryon Center for Visual Arts in Charlotte, N.C., May 19 through August 28.

’68 Todd Ballantine is president of Ballantine Environmental Resources, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in environmental education, ecological restoration and environmental counseling, based in Boulder, Colo.

’69 William "Bro" Adams, the newly elected president of Colby College in Waterville, Maine, will take office on July 1.* Jane Lubchenco received the Vollum Award for distinguished accomplishment in science and technology from Reed College. Recipients are chosen for their perseverance, fresh approach to solving problems, and creative imagination characterized by the award’s namesake, Howard Vollum. * John Spradling owns Spradling Real Estate Company, Inc., in Oklahoma City.

’70 Fletcher Anderson is a pilot/general manager at Mountain Aviation Services and at Telluride Soaring in Telluride, Colo. He and his wife, Shelby, have two children, Leif and Sophie. * Walter Carr sold his bookstore, Elliott Bay Book Company, after 26 years of business in Seattle. Elliott Bay was described by The Seattle Times in a March 9, 1999, article as a "one-of-a-kind, nationally known institution that’s largely acknowledged as the heart of the city’s literary life."

’71 Kat Bradley Bennett retired after 15 years with a local recycling organization. She lives in Hygiene, Colo., with her husband, Andy, and their sons, Cody and Patrick. She is also a member of a four-piece band, Ever’ Little Thing. * John and Debbie Hingston ‘73 Dolson live in Cairo, Egypt, with their children, Josh and Kristin. John is a geologist with BP-Amoco and Debbie teaches first grade at the Cairo American College. * David Ellis is an attorney in private practice in Austin, Texas, where he lives with his wife, Cynthia, and their son, Rowland. * Jean Nash is training director for The AIM Group in Marietta, Ga. * Pam Pacht works out of her home in Los Angeles as the western regional sales manager with Lithonia Lighting, based in Atlanta. * Alan Woo is president of Mega Group in King, Calif.

’72 Stephanie Cunningham Fisher was appointed head of school of the Ruxton Country School in Owing Mills, Md. * Carlos Frum was the Schlessman Visiting Executive in Economics at CC during block 3. * J. Hale Smith is chief financial officer at Groton School in Milton, Mass. * Korki Swanson and Jay Hereford have relocated to Maryland, where Jay is vice president of finance and administration at Graham Packaging Co.

’74 Rich and Carie Washut Campbell live in Torrington, Wyo., where they founded Pioneer Medical Clinic. Richard as a physician and Carie is the office manager. They are very active in their community and have three daughters, Danielle, Megan and Angie. * Susan Dutcher is a professor of genetics at Washington University’s School of Medicine in St. Louis. * Mark Lassleben and Kristine Pelz ’73 both hold positions with the U.S. Embassy in Bern, Switzerland. * Flip Naumburg lives in Ft. Collins, Colo., with his wife, Ada. * The American Cancer Society honored Nancy Saltzman with the Sword of Hope award. The award honors an individual or cancer-related organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the community. Nancy is the principal at Broadmoor Elementary School in Colorado Springs.

’76 Frank Bowman is an associate professor of law at Indiana University in Indianapolis, where he lives with his wife, Robin, and their children, Frank, Mary and Sarah. * Robbin Cohen is an associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. * Joseph Duran is a detentions specialist with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Castle Rock, Colo. He is sad to report that his wife passed away from cancer in June, 1998. * Judy Durkin has been a freelance graphic designer/Web designer for the past 20 years. She lives in Tacoma, Wash., and still skis, bikes and runs. * Nick Huston teaches at Putnam Elementary School in Putnam, Conn. * Terry Johnson is president of Integrated Network Services, Inc., in Denver.

’81 Jay Conils MAT is director of athletics for School District 60 in Pueblo, Colo. * Bryan Gianesin is an investment banker/attorney in Irvine, Calif. * Henry Mark lives in Seattle, Wash., with his wife, Brannon, and their son, Nathan. Henry does "Henry Mark’s City," short, man-on-the-street pieces for PBS affiliate, KCTS TV, and occasionally runs into classmates Hoby Douglass, Barrie White and Peter Vogt ’82. * In March 1999, Judy Weil Oksner and her husband, Jerry, met Pam Zahorik and her husband, Elton Fennell, in Atlanta for a "liberal arts weekend." They explored the Carter Presidential Center, museums and blues spots. * Kathy Balderston Rogers is a business partner manager with enCommerce, Inc., in Monterey, Calif. * Susan Sklenar is an environmental ecologist with TAI Environmental Sciences Inc., in Mobile, Ala.

’82 Janice Armstrong and Bob Berry were married July 24. * Paul Branch completed his family practice residency in June. He now practices homeopathy in Madison, Wis. * Jeff Church was on campus as a guest artist in the drama and dance departments during blocks 1 and 2. * Dean Winstanley lives in Denver, where he is policy and special projects manager for Colorado State Parks.

’83 David Davis lives in Cleveland, where he is an investigative reporter for The Plain Dealer. He was on campus in October to give a talk on investigative journalism. * Thomas Fake is a yacht designer with Bruce King Yacht Design in New Castle, Maine. * Michael Hayes is a construction manager with Peak Resorts in Breckenridge, Colo. * Nelly Higginbotham lives on a small farm in Paonia, Colo., with husband, Doug Bradbury, and children, Teo and Hanna. She is a herbalist for Mama’s Medicinals and grows herbs for the business on their farm. * Eric Miller is general manager of energy products at Silicon Energy Corp., in Alameda, Calif. * Heidi Rauscher Tilghman represented Colorado College at the inauguration of Richard S. Millmann as the 17th president of Knox College on Oct. 22. Heidi is an associate professor of German and international studies and coordinator of off-campus study at Knox. * Timothy Winfrey is vice president and general manager for Air Compressor Group in Davidson, N.C.

’85 Dee Baker is the voice of Og on the new animated series, "Mike, Lu and Og" for the Cartoon Network. He and his wife, Michelle, live in Burbank, Calif., and have acquired two pug puppies. * Hilary Nieberg Baskin lives in Evergreen, Colo., with her husband, Eliot, and their children, Jonah and Gabriel. * Ruth Benander is an associate professor of English at Raymond Walters College in Cincinnati. * Linda Ellis Cummings is in Washington, D.C., with her husband, Bob, and their son, David. Bob is training for a new position in the Air Force. * Peg Durkes and Ken Hoogs were married April 17, 1999, in Sea Island, Ga. Alumni in attendance were Anne Bush Hanson, Brad and Kimie Wurster Kreidle and Anne Smith. They live in Atlanta, where Peg is a partner and portfolio manager with Invesco * Caroline Francklyn is a bookseller for Borders Books in Bowie, Md. * Susan Henley is an endocrinologist in private practice in Colorado Springs. * Nancy Lamb and Chris Besser were married Feb. 14, 1998. * Geoffrey Mason is in his sixth season as a wilderness ranger for the U.S. Forest Service in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming. * George Williams is senior vice president of business development at Playboy Online in the New York office.

’86 Suzann Geisler and her daughter, Lily, moved to Telluride, Colo., where Suzann teaches first and second grade at Telluride Mountain School. Classmate Lance Waring lives nearby and is a member of the town council. * Caroline Davis Goodwin lives in Palo Alto, Calif., with her husband, Nick, and their daughter, Naomi. Caroline attends Stanford University as a Wallace Stegner Fellow in poetry. * Elizabeth Lutz and Karr Ingham were married June 4 in Orlando. * Mary Mannen teaches Spanish in the Gervais School District in Gervais, Ore. * Tim Panzer is a resident physician with Tacoma Family Medicine in Tacoma, Wash. * Mike Taber is an assistant professor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. * John Tracey is an associate professor of management at Cornell University. John and his wife, Shannon Dortch ’85, would love to host CC friends in "centrally isolated" upstate New York. * Chris Weaver teaches fifth grade at an experiential Foxfire school in Asheville, N.C., where he lives with his wife, Rhett, and their son, Aidan. * The "Sexiest Man Alive" issue of People Magazine included a section on sexy siblings, and featured Dean Winters and his brother, Scott.

’87 Wendy Blethen is the vice president of programs at the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce. * Mia Cadmus Crabtree MAT ’92 enjoys life on the Eagle River near Eagle, Colo., in a refurbished log cabin with her husband, Mike, and their four children. * Alberto Hernandez-Lemus is the Riley Scholar in Residence, a one-year appointment, in CC’s comparative literature department. * Jorge Hinojosa is the director of the Midwest regional office of the National Council of La Raza in Chicago. * Susan Lenz is associate director of development at Harvard University. * Suzanne Libra and Curt Williams were married Sept. 26. Suzanne is a media specialist for Huron Middle School in Northglen, Colo. * Karen Cross Locke lives in Basalt, Colo., with her husband, Kelly, and their sons, Ethan and Liam. Karen and Kelly are both physicians and job share at the MidValley Family Practice Clinic in Basalt. * Katie Ruoff Racette passed the national certification examination administered by the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences. Fewer than 250 people nationwide have earned the credentials as certified Editors of the Life Sciences. Katie lives in Albuquerque, where she is an editor at the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. * Heather Schmidt and Bob Wiswall were married Sept. 18 in Vancouver, Wash. Alumni in attendance were Melissa Forbes Alexander, Shawne Bolan, Susan Hyland Brickell, Lisa Howland Mailliard and Liz Rooney Rita. They live in Vancouver, where Heather is self-employed. * Tracy Thomsic is a content manager with Microsoft Corp., in Redmond, Wash.

’88 Josh Childs owns and operates Silvertone, a bar/restaurant in Boston. * Stephanie Broth Collins is a senior investment manager of the NCR Pension Fund at NCR Foundation in Dayton, Ohio. * Pam Kittelson is an assistant professor in the biology department at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. * Tony Kreusch manages the Ritchie Center Ice Rink at the University of Denver. * Kerry Lintner lives in Telluride, Colo., where he teaches physics, math and technology at Telluride High School. * Elizabeth Brownsberger Mader and her husband, Blake, quit their jobs, sold their home and possessions, bought an RV and "hit the road". They plan to work and travel for at least two years, seeing the U.S., Mexico and Canada. * James Pilliod owns Wolftree Woodworks, Inc., in Burlington, Vt. * David Rosenberg is vice president of sales for IntegrationWare in Buffalo Grove, Ill. * Todd Schaefer, an assistant professor of political science at Central Washington University, is co-editor and partial contributor to the volume, "The Encyclopedia of Media in American Politics." * Mim Kahn Sichel lives in Raleigh, N.C., with her husband, Larry, and their son, Jacob. * Michael Wang is an instructor in pediatrics at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, where he lives with his wife, Cecilia.

’89 Dale Askey lives in Salt Lake City, where he works as a reference librarian at Marriott Library at the University of Utah. * Steve Barbee is vice president of Zyan Communications in Los Angeles. * Ken Becker is the national grassroots director of the American Hospital Association in Washington, D.C. He lives in Silver Spring, Md., with his wife, Michelle, and their son, Zachary. * Mark Douglas is assistant professor of Christian ethics at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Ga. * Ed Geis lives in Falmouth, Maine, where he owns Headwaters Writing and Design, a desktop publishing business. * John and Cathy Taylor ’90 Gillis live in Dolores, Colo., with their son, Reilly. Tammy is a medical specialist in the U.S. Army and is in charge of the ob-gyn clinic in Heidelberg. * Gentry Holloway lives in Minneapolis and works at the Bell Museum of Natural History. * Jeanne McFarland-McDonald is a commencement and outreach coordinator in the Office of Community Relations at the University of Colorado in Boulder. * Peter McLaughlin is an associate in mergers and acquisitions at Chase Securities, Inc., in New York. * Tim Metz and Jennifer Jorgensen ‘88 were married Sept. 25 in Portola Valley, Calif.
