Noel Maxam, a four-time Emmy winner, has directed, written, produced, or edited over 3500 hours of television on CBS, NBC, ABC, Disney, and Nick-at-Nite. Currently he has three innovation-based startups underway, and most recently served as co-executive producer, supervising producer and director on NBC’s "Days of Our Lives."
Maxam will discuss disruptive innovation, a recurring theme of our times. Apple, with its iPod and iTunes, radically changed how we consume music. TV is right in the middle of a similar disruption. First we went from three network channels to hundreds of channels. Now, the Internet not only creates new ways to access entertainment, but the distribution channels are getting into producing content, with shows coming from Netflix. This leads to profound questions about the future of entertainment. This intriguing presentation will provide a television producer’s insights into how the entertainment industry is being disrupted.
