Dario comes from Milano. Located in the north of Italy, Milano is a major world fashion and design capital, home of The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, La Scala opera house, and to two of the world's major football teams, A.C. Milan and F.C. Internazionale Milano. In 2015 Milano also hosted the international EXPO!
Dario has taught in Italy (of course!), France, and Germany. In 2012 he brought his passion for teaching and a unique pedagogical approach with him to Colorado College. His courses combine standard grammar lessons with his specialty: ludolinguistics and process/glottodrama. The first encompasses a wide variety of word games, the second uses drama activities and techniques to draw students into the "real" actions of speaking and listening. Using these drama techniques allows students to inhabit a role or persona, freeing students from the self-consciousness and stress that often prevent language learning. It also provides a holistic experience in which "mind" and "body" are both fully involved, as they would be in any real communication situation.
