Open Houses at Colorado College

Spring at Colorado College

During your college search, visiting a campus is one of the best ways to dig in to a community. Whether you eat lunch with a student, participate in a lively class discussion, marvel at our mountain views, or make connections with faculty and staff, you will walk away with a good sense of who we are. In addition to regularly-scheduled daily visits, we also offer more comprehensive, longer Open House programs that will expose you to academic and co-curricular opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my parents?

Sure! We even have several events planned specifically for parents. A list of hotels can be found here. When making reservations, please ask for the Colorado College rate, as some hotels offer discounts for CC visitors.

How do I register for the weekend?

Please use the Online Registration Checklist below to organize your registration information and then officially register using the registration links above. Reservations for March 31-April 1 need to be made by March 27 at midnight MST. Reservations for April 7-8 need to be made by April 3 at midnight MST. Overnight hosts are volunteers, and we cannot promise to find a host unless you have made a timely reservation. If you register with our office after the deadline, we will try to accommodate you, but you should make a hotel reservation just in case.

What do I do when I arrive?

Please check in at the registration table in Worner Center between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday. We will give you a packet with all the information you need for your time on campus. Host matching for overnights will take place at 4:30 p.m. and again at 9 p.m. If you arrive after 9 p.m., the Worner Desk should have your information packet for you. If you are arriving on Friday, the registration table will be open between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. If you arrive after this time, please come to the Admission Office in Cutler Hall.

What should I bring?

Please bring a sleeping bag, pillow, and towel. You will likely be sleeping on the floor, as most students do not have extra beds. The CC Open House is informal, so be sure to pack comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes. Colorado weather in spring is extremely variable, so be prepared for anything from 70 degrees and sunny to snow. All meals and events are free; however, if you want to buy CC souvenirs, shop downtown, or order snacks, remember to bring some extra spending money.

What if I can't make either program?

We hope you are able to visit another time. We can schedule an information session, tour, class visit, and perhaps an overnight stay (make reservations two weeks in advance). CC students will be on spring break March 10-20 and will be on block break from April 14-17, so please try to avoid these times as we will be unable to provide hosts or class visits. Please use CC Base Camp to find alternative visit options.

What if I can't visit at all?

If you have questions, feel free to call and ask for an admission officer or visit our website. You can contact professors by searching for their information on each department webpage, under "People". Students are also available to answer questions; just call (800) 542-7214 and let us know if you would like to speak to someone.
