The SWS Post Graduation Summer Internship provides SWS Seniors an opportunity for pre-graduate school experiences to deepen their scholarship and/or service to the Southwest region. Potential placements might include non-profits or professional associations in the region providing technical assistance to communities and native nations as well as community organizations interested in Community Based Research.
2008 Post Graduation Intern
at the New Mexico Environmental Law Center
"My summer at the Law Center was spent gathering data centered on natural resources and the environment. This included compiling geospatial locations of New Mexico’s extractive resources as well as government agencies and corporations which have jurisdiction over these resources. Sifting through various records, I organized a comprehensive database for New Mexicans to inform themselves about the environmental and industrial activity that affects their daily lives, communities and cultures."
