2020 Cocktail

Physics Class of 2020 Signature Cocktail: Berry-Mint Spritzer/Limeade

Ingredient List:

  • Dry Gin (optional)
  • Soda Water
  • 6 (Medium to Large) Strawberries
    • Alternatively, this can be replaced with 6 oz Raspberries
  • 4 Tbsp (approx. 4 teabags) Peppermint Tea
  • Rose's Sweetened Lime Juice
  • Rose's Simple Syrup
  • Ice

Tools & Equipment:

  • Chef's Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Small Saucepan
  • Medium Pot
  • Stovetop
  • Coffee Filters
  • Funnel
  • Pitcher
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Pint Glass
  • Wine Glass

Berry-Mint Cordial (base for both drinks)

Ingredient List: (this uses the stove top!)

  • Strawberries
  • Peppermint Tea
  • Rose's Sweetened Lime Juice

Procedure:

  • Prep Strawberries or Raspberries by adding them to ice water in a small pot
  • Add one pint of water to small saucepan and bring to a boil on a stovetop
  • Once boiling, turn down to a 5
  • Remove berries from ice water, slice, and add to boiling water
  • Let simmer for 4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and add peppermint tea, and let sit for 2 minutes.
  • Fine strain through coffee filters & funnel into a pitcher
  • Add 4 oz (½ cup) of Rose's Sweetened Lime Juice and stir.
  • Let chill by placing the pitcher into the small pot with ice water

Cocktail: Berry-Mint Spritzer

Ingredient List:

  • 2 oz (¼ cup) Dry Gin
  • 2 oz (¼ cup) Strawberry-Mint Cordial
  • ½ oz (1 Tbsp) Rose's Simple Syrup
  • 4 oz (½ cup) Soda Water
  • Ice

Procedure:

  • Build all liquid ingredients in a wine glass
  • Top with Ice
  • Garnish with a slice of strawberry and straw

N/A Cocktail: Berry-Mint Limeade

Ingredient List:

  • 4 oz (½ cup) Strawberry-Mint Cordial
  • ½ oz (1 Tbsp) Rose's Simple Syrup
  • 4 oz (½ cup) Soda Water
  • Ice

Procedure:

  • Build all liquid ingredients in a wine glass
  • Top with Ice
  • Garnish with a slice of strawberry and straw
