Simon Jacobs

Simon Jacobs is in demand as an organist, conductor and accompanist throughout the United States and Europe. He is currently Organist and Choirmaster at Grace and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Colorado Springs, where he oversees the busy music program, directing five choirs spanning all ages, and curating the Taylor Memorial Concert Series. Simon is also Shove Chapel Organist at Colorado College, and Assistant Director of the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble.

Simon began his musical education as a chorister at Truro Cathedral, under David Briggs and Andrew Nethsingha. He was Organ Scholar at Christ’s College, Cambridge, where he undertook numerous international tours, broadcasts and recordings, and then spent consecutive years as Organ Scholar of Salisbury Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.

Before moving to Colorado, Simon was Director of Music and Organist at St. Thomas’s Episcopal Church, New Haven, CT, and was actively involved in the musical community at Yale University, where he received his Masters in Choral Conducting from the Institute of Sacred Music. In recent years, he was a rehearsal conductor for the Yale Schola Cantorum, under the direction of David Hill, and accompanied numerous university ensembles and voice students.         

In the summer of 2017, Simon was Acting Assistant Director of Music at Truro Cathedral, UK, where he accompanied and conducted daily services with the world-renowned Cathedral Choir, under the direction of Christopher Gray. Simon is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists.
