Jean Cooley

Jean brings to the classroom over 20 years of experience in the accounting and auditing fields, having worked for Ernst & Young, followed by a long career at AT&T. After taking an early retirement from AT&T in 2003, Jean has been teaching Accounting at the United States Air Force Academy, online for LeTourneau University, and now at Colorado College as a visiting faculty member. At CC Jean teaches Principles of Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Personal Finance.

Jean earned her BA in Economics at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and her MBA/MS in Public Accounting from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey, her home state.

When not in the classroom, Jean volunteers her time handling the accounting and tax filings for Shepherd Project Ministries, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, as well as for DynamX Consulting, a for-profit LLC. Jean continues in a volunteer capacity with the Cadet Show Choir at the Air Force Academy, and also participates in a mentorship program for women at her church in Castle Rock. Her most recently acquired hobby is helping her 17-year old son navigate the college application process.
