Quinn Webb 16' received the Robin Satterwhite Thesis Award. She is now working at Larimer Lounge, where she tackles "every aspect of event creation: promotions, audiovisual, booking, and general planning."
Peter Wailes 16' received the Robert Rubin Prize in Mathematical Economics. He is currently exploring the consulting space with internships at Analysis Group and The Oxford Group.
Shannon McCarthy 16' received the Robert Rubin Prize in Political Economy. She is currently working as a GIS Intern at Arrowstreet Inc. where she manages and utilizes data to produce campus master plans for military bases using ArcGIS.
William Richmond 15' received the Bruni Award for submitting his senior thesis for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. He is currently teaching at AmeriCorps and working as a Ski Instructor in Crested Butte.
Gavin Nachbar 14' was the recipient of the Robert E. Rubin Award in Mathematical Economics, Ray O. Werner Thesis Award, and the Van Skilling Award. After graduation, he went on to work at Dropbox in Sales Strategy. He currently works at Premise Data.
James Lanergan 15' received the Robert E. Pizzi Scholarship. He is currently working in the El Pomar Fellowship Program-- a two-year, highly competitive program that provides management experience and leadership training.
Lauren Bieber 16' was the recipient of the Robert E. Pizzi Scholarship. She is currently working as an Analyst at Slate Partners, a boutique investment bank that provides sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory services.
Ganesh Karapakula was the recipient of both the Kenneth J. Curran and the Robin Satterwhite Thesis Award for his thesis on Income Elasticities in India.
Research & Thesis Awards
The Department of Economics and Business presents several awards every year. Some of these awards are grants and some are recognitions for outstanding work. All theses are automatically entered for thesis awards; other awards, such as the Van Skilling Award for independent research, require specific applications.
