PS106 – The Idea of Liberal Arts Education in Philosophy, Politics, Literature and Film
The course will consider the historical origins and development of the liberal arts, and the development of the American liberal arts college, including the history of Colorado College. Discussion will respond to readings in classical and modern documents on the idea of liberal arts education as well as contemporary arguments about the future of the liberal arts. The discussion will include examination of such questions illustrated in literature and film.
