Introduction to analytical and numerical methods for finding solutions to differential equations involving two or more independent variables. Topics include linear partial differential equations, boundary and initial value problems, Fourier series solutions, finite element methods, the Laplace equation, the wave equation and the heat equation. (Not offered 2019-20).
Prerequisite: Mathematics 315 or some experience with ordinary differential equations with consent of instructor.
