FG315 – French Feminist Theory

An exploration of the writings of several important feminist theorists often labeled collectively as 'French feminism,' including Beauvoir, Irigaray, Cixous and Kristeva. Focus on the key concepts of the Other, feminist interpretations of Lacanian psychoanalysis, language and gender, difference and the body, and also on critiques of these ways of understanding gender.
