An advanced curriculum, instruction, and assessment course for students interested in understanding how curricular materials, class experiences and teacher interaction behaviors define curriculum. Students will learn about curriculum theories and ideologies that inform learning design. Particular attention is paid to cultural relevance and inclusion and the connection to brain-based, developmental learning to answer the questions: what should be taught, to whom, and for what ends? Students will spend time developing curriculum and evaluating its implementation in a school setting. (Not offered 2018-19).
Prerequisite: Education 101, Education 260.
