BE244 – Histotechnique

Students will acquire the basic knowledge necessary to prepare animal and plant tissues for examination by light microscopy. Theoretical aspects of fixation, paraffin embedding, sectioning techniques, and the art of staining will be emphasized. Interpretation of results will be facilitated through lecture/discussion sessions highlighting the basics of histology. (Not offered 2017-18).

Prerequisite: Organismal Biology and Ecology 105 or 106 recommended.
