AN217 – Precolumbian Civilizations of Mesoamerica

Survey of the archaeologically known cultures of Mesoamerica, which include some of archaeology's most celebrated subjects of study, the Olmecs, Mayans and Aztecs. Students will learn the history and geography of the region, the nature of sociopolitical and cultural developments in the region, the material culture distinctive of different times and places within the region and key issues and debates of ongoing concern. Meets the Critical Perspectives: Global Cultures requirement. (Not offered 2017-18).
