AH223 – 16th Century Art of Europe

Focus on the development of art and architecture between c. 1480 and 1600 in Europe. From the period known as the 'High' Renaissance (Raphael, Michelangelo, Durer and Titian), examines the spread and development of the Renaissance style. Looks at art made in Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain during the Reformation, and includes questions of style, iconography, patronage, function, and interpretation within that historical context. (Not offered 2017-18).
