Giving to CC

Library renovation garners $7 million in foundation grants

Colorado College has received grants of $5 million from Inasmuch Foundation and $2 million from the Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Foundation to support the renovation and expansion of the college’s library, which could break ground as early as spring 2016.

Donors like you made it possible!

More than $37.1 million in cash, pledges, and estate commitments were received during Colorado College's 2015 fiscal year, which concluded on June 30. The total included $19.6 million in cash and outright gifts — an amount when combined with gifts received during the previous three fiscal years — equals $73.8 million and represents the best four-year period of fundraising in the college’s 141-year history. Read more about this fundraising record and the new $10 million commitment that challenges CC alumni and friends to establish 101 scholarships.

By giving each and every year, you make it possible to offer scholarships for promising students, attract and retain the best faculty for the Block Plan, and create unique opportunities for discovery in the lives of so many students.

Our commitment to donors: Colorado College does not trade, share, or sell donor information to any outside party, organization, or vendor for non-college purposes, unless required by law.

CC's Priority Projects

In the college's strategic plan, The Colorado College Plan: Building on the Block, recommendations were made to provide additional support for realizing the potential of the Block Plan and enhancing CC’s distinctive place of learning. From those recommendations, several priorities emerged, including the renovation of Tutt Library, increased investment in student scholarships, and the creation of an innovation institute.

What Can Your Gift of up to $250 Accomplish?

  • $20 will allow an incoming freshman to take the StrengthsFinder test with the career center
  • $105 will rent a bus for a night of CC hockey to allow students to cheer on the Tigers at the World Arena
  • $150 will provide a new set of binoculars for field study
  • $250 will furnish an honorarium for a local author to visit an English class
  • $250 will cover 1/16 of a student’s $4,000 stipend for independent or faculty collaborated research
