Important:
Connect by HertzCC is excited to offer a new service to students, faculty, and staff this year called "Connect by Hertz". "Connect" is an on-site vehicle rental program aimed at reducing vehicular traffic on campus. Click here to view the informational brochure. Click here (or on the link in the left column) to access the "Connect" website. New Changes to the Parking System for 2009-2010 :Several changes were made to the parking system over the summer that are now in effect for the academic year. 1. The 8 permit spaces directly adjacent to Montgomery Hall are no longer part of the W3 parking lot. They have been reserved for Admissions Guests only, as indicated by the new signs in the area. If you park in these spaces, you will receive a $75 ticket and could be towed. Please respect the reserved parking spaces on campus and help us better serve our prospective student population. 2. New directional signs have been placed throughout campus better identifying one-way traffic areas. These signs were placed to prevent traffic accidents, and we strongly urge all motorists to obey them. Vehicles observed in violation of these one-way traffic regulations will be ticketed. 3. The tenant parking spaces on south campus will be relocated from the S1 Wooglins/Central Services lot to the S3 Cornerstone lot. They will be located on the new porous asphalt surface and the signage will be moved during block one. 4. In an effort to make better use of our available parking spaces, the rules regarding where you should park if your assigned lot is full have been changed. You are now allowed to park in the E1 Northeast Campus parking lot if you cannot find an open space in your assigned lot. You are still allowed to park in the closest available "Paid Visitor Parking" area, but we encourage people to try parking in the E1 lot so that those visitor spaces can be left available for visitors to campus. Important Reminders:1. Now that the move-in period is over and classes have started, you are no longer allowed to park in posted fire lanes around campus for any reason. Vehicles observed in these fire lanes will be ticketed and towed. 2. Last year, we observed a rush of vehicles parking on west campus after permit enforcement hours were over for the day. This resulted in permit holders for the west campus lots being displaced and everyone getting tickets the next morning. We again ask that non-permit holders refrain from taking up west campus permit spaces even during non-enforcement hours. If we do not notice a change for the better in this behavior, we will extend permit enforcement hours on west campus. 3. In an effort to maintain a positive relationship with our surrounding community members, Colorado College is dedicated to our "Good Neighbor Parking Policy". We encourage all students, staff, and faculty and their visitors to review and abide by the policy. 4. As always, posted signage is a requirement, not a suggestion. Fire lanes, handicapped spaces, reserved parking and no parking areas, 15 minute parking zones and all other posted regulations will be enforced. Avoiding tickets is simple; follow the posted regulations and ask for clarification if you are unsure. 5. TICKETING HAS BEGUN FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR. This means that you need to get your vehicle moved to your assigned lot. The parking office will remain open until 3:30 PM for the rest of the week to allow people to come and sign up for parking or get any questions answered. We are located in Ticknor Hall, room 21. Effective Hours and Dates:Parking on Colorado College property is by permit only, and is enforced Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM. Parking is not enforced on College approved holidays. It is important that all faculty, staff, and students using motor vehicles on campus familiarize themselves with the Parking and Traffic Regulations, as well as carefully observing the various traffic signs posted throughout the campus. Drivers should take extra care to use only the parking area permitted by their hangtag. Do not park in the surrounding neighborhoods where private homes are located. If parking is difficult in the area you have been assigned, please discuss the situation with the Assistant Director of Campus Safety. Be aware that traffic regulations are strictly enforced. If a ticket is received under extenuating circumstances, it may be appealed online by filling out the provided online appeals form, or by sending an email to ParkingViolations@coloradocollege.edu. Please include your name, CCID number (if applicable), and ticket number in any appeals to insure that the appeal is properly processed. Incomplete appeals will be disregarded. An unbiased third party will review appeals, and responses mailed or e-mailed to the address provided. Appeals must be made within two (2) business days after the date of issuance, or the right to appeal is forfeit. |
