Block Break in the Canadian Rockies
September 25-29, 2013
The Canadian Rocky Mountains are a spectacular landscape of forest, water, rock, and ice. Magnificent in every season, they reach their scenic peak in early fall, when the larch trees at tree line turn brilliant gold. Join CC Geology Professor Eric Leonard and Geology Department Technical Director and professional photographer Steve Weaver for four late September days of hiking, geology, and photography in the Alberta Rockies. We will stay at scenic, comfortable Mt. Engadine Lodge in Kananaskis Country, just south of Banff National Park. Each day you will have a choice of activities – photography, geology, easy hikes, and strenuous hikes – or just hanging out at the lodge, resting, reading, soaking in the scenery or soaking in the hot tub. Early risers will have the option of taking part in morning yoga sessions led by Lisa Noll, Eric’s wife.
Cost for the block break in the Canadian Rockies is $1,450 per person which includes four nights lodging at the Mount Engadine Lodge, three meals per day, transportation to/from the lodge from Calgary, taxes, fees and gratuities. Colorado College will be the only guests using the lodge during this time and space is limited.
**A non-refundable deposit of $500 holds your spot – nothing else gets you on the list. If the trip fills before you call, you can be placed on the waiting list.
