Alumni Association Board

AAB group picMembers of the Alumni Association Board are alumni who have demonstrated their leadership skills in various volunteer capacities for the college such as alumni admissions representatives, career volunteers, fundraisers, events volunteers and reunion planners. Alumni Association Board members meet on campus every spring to participate in the AAB Leadership Forum.  New members are elected by the Alumni Board to a four-year term (not to exceed three consecutive terms).

Members

Members of the Alumni Association Board are alumni who have demonstrated their leadership skills in various volunteer capacities for the college such as alumni admission representatives, career volunteers, fundraisers, events volunteers (alumni club program) and reunion planners. They meet twice a year, at Homecoming in the fall and at the Alumni Leadership Forum in the spring. New members are elected by the Alumni Board to a four-year term (not to exceed three consecutive terms).

Committees

Members of the Association Board are appointed to staggered 4-year terms and serve on at least one committee. Current committees are: Admission, Student Life, Development, Alumni Engagement, Nominations/Awards and Forum.

Awards

One of the most important functions of the Board is to recognize the contributions of distinguished alumni, faculty members and members of the CC community to the betterment of society and to the enhancement of the College and its mission. The Alumni Association Board acknowledges these alumni and staff members through four awards given at Homecoming. Submit a nomination.

CC Alumni Association Student Leader Scholarship.

The AAB created and supports the CC Alumni Association Student Leader Scholarship for current sophomores and juniors on financial aid. This a loan reducing grant that is designed to recognize and reward student leaders and encourage them to stay involved with CC after they graduate. This year, three scholarships of $3,688.00 each were awarded to: Hanna Berglund ’13 of Alberton, MT (junior, International Political Economy major, CC Women’s Soccer Team goalkeeper and Captain of the CC Club Alpine Ski Team; Ellen Scully ’13 of Rocky Hill, CT (junior, Economics and Political Science double major, founding member of the CC Young Republicans Club, Site Coordinator for CC Public Achievement, Hotline Respondent for Student Organization for Sexual Safety); and Katherine Smith ’14 of Westminster, CO (sophomore, Art History major, Founder of the Tap Club (dance), Sounds of Colorado College DJ, V. P. of Alpha Lambda Freshman Honor Society, Intern at Bemis Fine Arts, fluent in conversational French). These outstanding students will be recognized again at Homecoming Convocation.
