GY 135 4610 Classroom assignment: Palmer 16 An introductory physical geology course with a strong emphasis on field observations. This class is equivalent to GY 140, the Physical Geology course taught during the regular academic year. Students learn to identify minerals and rocks in outcrops, to make observations and interpretations of the history of the rocks, to understand the processes that cause folding, faulting and erosion of the rocks, and to record these observations and interpretations on maps.
