Beginning Fiction Writing
Block A: June 8 - June 26 or Block B: June 29 - July 17
1 CC unit (4 semester hours). One humanities credit.

Classroom assignment: Armstrong 259B

This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of the craft of fiction writing. This course will cover beginnings, dialogue, gesture, character formation, the function of place, and plot sequencing in the assembling of short fiction. Readings of current and classic writers will complement written assignments. The class will function primarily as a workshop.

Prerequisites: None. Enrollment is limited to 12 students during each block.
