Astronomy
Block B: June 29 - July 17
1 CC unit (4 semester hours). Fulfills the Critical Perspectives: Scientific Investigations of the Natural World lab or field requirement. One natural sciences credit.

Students will investigate the history of astronomy and the nature, formation, and structure of the planets. We will explore the search for life in the solar system and beyond. Laboratory work will include learning to use telescopes, taking photographs of the sky, and using a spectroscope. Students will take at least one extended trip to either the Baca Campus or the Colorado College mountain cabin.

Prerequisites: None. Enrollment is limited to 24 students. A non-refundable $100 course deposit is required to enroll in this course. The deposit will go toward your final tuition payment.
