TRYOUTS
1) In order to become a team member of the Tiger Eyes Dance Team, dancers are required to attend and complete the scheduled tryouts.
2) Tryouts are open to current Colorado College students.
3) Anyone wishing to be on the CC Dance Team must be a full time student on the Colorado College campus and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.
4) For justifiable reasons, the dance team advisor may make exceptions to the information above.
5) The Tiger Eyes Dance Team is a serious and time-consuming activity. People who have other serious commitments are strongly encouraged to discuss their commitment with the advisor before trying out.
PRACTICES
1) Dancers are required to attend three practices a week. Additional practices may be added as needed before performances.
2) Dancers may be required to perform or practice during a block break. Block break plans that may take the dancer off campus should be discussed with the team advisor ASAP.
3) Dancers must not be late to or absent from practices unless excused. The coach and captain must be notified ASAP of tardiness or absences. Always arrive 5-10 minutes early.
4) Dancers may not consume alcoholic beverages before a practice, or be under the influence during practice.
PERFORMANCES
1) Performance schedules are given with enough notice that it is expected for dance team members to attend them all. All performances are mandatory.
2) Dancers must arrive at the warm-up site at the time designated by the captain.
3) Dancers may not consume alcoholic beverages at a performance or game, be under the influence, or hung over, during them. Failure to comply may result in suspension from the team.
4) Dancers must sit with the team during the full duration of the games (except for halftime) and be supportive of the Tigers unless previously excused by the coach.
GENERAL
1) Dancers are required to be supportive of the Colorado College Tigers at all sporting events, regardless of whether the team is performing or not, as you are always representing the Tiger Eyes. It is expected that good sportsmanship will be displayed at these events towards guest teams as well.
2) Although the team is not a NCAA division sport, it is still imperative that the team is understood as a priority and that full dedication is necessary in order to remain on the team.
3) Dancers are expected to work as a team. Individual members of the team may or may not be close friends. Team member friendship / non-friendship must not have a negative effect on the team.
4) Team members are responsible for maintaining their clothing, uniforms, and equipment assigned to them in excellent condition. Care must be taken to ensure that these are in a clean and presentable condition. Each team member must safeguard their clothing, uniforms and equipment, therefore personally liable for replacement, loss, or damage (excluding normal wear and tear).
5) Uniforms issued are only to be worn during games, performances, and public appearances designated by the advisor and are not to be loaned or worn by anyone who is not a current member of the Tiger Eyes Dance Team.
6) Dancers will not consume alcoholic beverages while in uniform.
7) Tiger Eyes Dancers may have a small financial responsibility for the purchase of additional uniform/equipment items. Fund raising activities will be offered to help defray each member's personal financial investment.
The above is the Colorado College Tiger Eyes Dance Team policy statement as of 2/04. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact the team advisor. Team members are expected to read and abide by all rules and regulations. Copies of this policy statement will be read and signed at tryouts.
