What is the Staff Council? The Staff Council is comprised of up to 15 individuals from various departments around campus and is constituted of 40% exempt staff, 40% non-exempt staff, and 20% at-large (either exempt or non-exempt). We are committed to providing all staff members the opportunity to succeed and grow in their work experience and to ensure that Colorado College is a desirable place of employment for everyone. What's happening on the Staff Council at the present time? The Staff Council's primary focus at the moment is our memo to President Celeste and Tom Nycum regarding the upcoming Parking Fees. We've also created an online petition for any members of the community to express support for the memo and add their names to the list of people who would like our questions answered publicly by May 1st, 2006. In addition, we're working with Human Resources about the fact that non-exempt staff will need to start entering time sheets to comply with federal laws. We're also working on finalizing the election of new Staff Council members for the coming year, and securing nominations for all open staff positions on campus committees. As always, we endeavor to represent the Colorado College staff as well and accurately as we possibly can. What does the Staff Council do?
