MEET THE 2007-2008 CENTER FOR SERVICE AND LEARNING STAFF

Professional Staff:

Gay Victoria has been with the Center for Service and Learning for the past 12 years. As a Sociologist, she is passionate about the learning that can take place as a result of participation in service. She has two sons, a daughter-in-law and a dog. In her spare time, she likes to garden, read, shop at Goodwill and watch her favorite TV show, “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” - really!

Elizabeth Pudder has worked in the CSL for 8 years and can barely put into words how much she enjoys her role in the center. When she's not in the center, you can find her camping with her family, making jewelry, and singing karaoke. If you need to get on her good side, be ready to dance at any given moment to whatever disco song she might have playing in her computer.

Tim Ambruso is the Interim Assistant Director in the Center for Service and Learning. He advises the International Service group and will be joining the team in India in January. Tim also advises student groups doing on-going service in the community. He is a 2005 CC graduate and has been working at CC since his graduation. He graduated with a degree in Economics and a minor in United States History. In his free time he enjoys being outside, playing soccer, basketball, spending time with his family and walking his dog.

Kelly Lollar is the Program Coordinator for the Center for Service and Learning. She has a son, who attends CSU, three daughters and three dogs. In her spare time she likes to go camping and boating with her family & friends. Watch out for that infectious laugh of hers - if you're feeling blue, you won't want to come in to her office unless you expect that frown of your to turn upside down!

The hardest class she’s ever taken was organic chemistry 2. She loves reading, swimming, and wants to start traveling more! What she loves most about her life right now is that she is taking exciting classes and is around wonderful people at school.

Anya Aylesworth is a junior and is the Newsletter Editor for the CSL. She is from Denver, Colorado and her favorite day of the week is Saturday because she can sleep in and put homework off until Sunday. The thing that she loves most about her life today is that she is in Colorado, where it is sunny for 300 days out of the year. Her favorite entertainers are Lucille Ball, Beck, and James Brown and the hardest class she’s taken is Research Design; a little piece of her died that class. When she’s bored, she likes to bother friends who are trying to be productive and the season that she enjoys most is fall, because it is hands down, the best season ever.

Ashley Young is a junior is the Publicity Relations Intern. She is from Windsor, Colorado and Sunday is her favorite day of the week because it’s a peaceful day. The thing that she likes most about her life today is that she is involved in areas where she can make a difference. She loves fall because of the cool, crisp air and October snows, and when she’s bored, she bakes. The hardest class she’s ever taken was Botany- Biology of Plants, and if she were to be a shoe, she would be Rock-climbing shoes in order to climb big, tall, sky-scrapers.

Garrett Meek is a senior and is the International Service Intern. His hometown is Portland, Oregon, and his favorite day of the week is Thursday because of the anticipation of Friday! His favorite games are TextTwist and Spades and when he’s bored, he runs, reads, and bakes. Her favorite day of the week is Monday because she has the most free time and her favorite season is fall because it is so peaceful!

Jesse Fitzpatrick is a senior neuroscience major from Corvallis, Oregon. He enjoys juggling, climbing, mountain biking, and home brewing. If you would like to pass clubs/torches please call 541-908-1141…. If he were an animal he would be a black lab, have you ever seen an animal with that much love and enthusiasm! His perfect date would be a climbing trip with a surprise picnic (stashed ingeniously by him) at the top of the climb. If the date goes really well, she might end up at his place…playing Mario Kart. He eventually would like to go to medical or graduate school (still considering both). In the short term he would like to teach science in the peace corp. A fun fact about Jesse is that he has been clinically dead, and his idol is Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris does not go hunting because hunting implies the probability of failure. Chuck Norris goes killing. Jesse’s favorite saying is “Being a character builds character” and his best advice to “Never say ‘what’s the worst that could happen,’ especially in a movie!”
