India 2008 (our 3rd Annual Trip) Return Update: We have just returned from our service project in the village of Khutida in the Melghat region of central India. We spent a wonderful 11 days in the village working alongside the villagers on projects related to water and sanitation issues. Team India learned as much or more from the villagers as we provided and we are thankful that we had a chance to spend time with the wonderful Korku people. MORE TO COME...INCLUDING EXCERPTS FROM OUR TRAVEL JOURNALS...CHECK BACK SOON! In January 2008, 12 students, a staff member and a faculty member returned for a third consecutive year to India. The team worked with the village of Kuthida on a water and sanitation project that included construction of pit toilets, wash platforms, and bathing platforms, planting of banana trees, and educational trainings on issues of clean water and hygiene. The program will continue to work with Melghat Mitra through MAITRI (an Indian NGO) in future years to develop a lasting relationship and projects for the future.
