![]() Colorado Springs Fine Arts CenterLocated just south of campus at 30 W. Dale St., the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center was constructed in 1936 and newly expanded and renovated as of August 2007. The FAC is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the home of the Fine Arts Center Theatre Company and also houses the SaGāJi Theatre, Bemis Art School, and Art Library. Its Taylor Museum for Southwestern Studies houses the “Sacred Land” exhibit of Native American and Hispanic Southwestern art treasures, as well as Charles Russell and Georgia O’Keeffe, Western art and traveling exhibitions of 19th- and 20th-century fine art. The recent addition of the one million dollar collection of Dale Chihuly glass to be housed in the newly expanded Dale Street museum and the FAC Modern downtown located on the first floor of the Plaza of the Rockies at 121 S. Tejon makes the Fine Arts Center a not-to-be-missed resource. Colorado College’s institutional membership provides all students and employees with free admission to the center. All staff and students can also purchase full-fledged membership benefits at half price. |
